Costa Calma holidays are as laidback as Baloo in the Jungle Book, and come with all those holiday necessities – like golden beaches and watersports.

Family-friendly Costa Calma

Costa Calma on Fuerteventura’s eastern coast is as soothing as its name suggests. It’s edged with an almond-coloured beach, which is popular with families thanks to its shallow water. The resort also acts as a gateway to the volcanoes and colourful birdlife of Jandia Natural Park in the south west.

Windsurfing for all levels

Costa Calma can be very windy – which is great if you love watersports like windsurfing. In fact, Playa de Sotavento – the resort’s A-list beach – hosts the World Windsurfing Championships every July. But don’t worry if you’re no pro. You can hire equipment for fun all along Costa Calma’s coast, no matter what experience you have.

Animal madness at the zoo

There’s no end of daytrip ideas in Costa Calma, especially if you want a break from the beach. La Lajita village is home to the Oasis Park Zoo, where you can see camels and get up close to birds and lemurs. There’s also Jandia Natural Park in the southwest. From above, it looks like a patchwork quilt of chocolate-coloured mountains, mint-green forests and teensy dove-white beaches.
