With a long stretch of beach, and Rhodes Town on the doorstep, Ialyssos holidays have the sunbathing and sightseeing formula nailed.

Ialyssos Beach

The pebbly beach in Ialyssos gets lots of brownie points. Not only is it super-long – three kilometres, to be exact – but it’s also well-stocked with everything you need for a day spent sizzling in the sun. Loungers, cafés, supermarkets and watersports centres are all propped up along the shoreline.

Traditional Greek town

Ialyssos was one of the first settlements to set up shop on Rhodes, over 3,000 years ago. You can turn back the clock with a trip to Filerimos Hill, which looks out over the town. It’s where you’ll find the ruins of a temple and a monastery, not to mention top-notch views of the surrounding area and out to sea.

Rhodes Town

When you’re based in Ialyssos, you’ve got all the perks of staying by a beach, while being only a 20-minute cab ride from the action in Rhodes Town – the island’s biggest crowd-pleaser. Hang around in the new town, and you can work the designer shops and classy bars. Or, get lost in the old town’s web of cobbled lanes – castles, museums and tavernas dishing up proper Greek food are around every corner.
