Holidays to Las Caletillas show off both sides of Tenerife. It has a laid back atmosphere, but lively Santa Cruz is just down the road.

Retro Spain

You won’t find any gimmicks around this neck of the woods. Las Caletillas is slice of old-fashioned Spain at its best. You’ll find sleepy tavernas mixing up jugs of sangria, a peaceful promenade stretching along the coastline and chilled out live music playing as the sun goes down.

Sandcastle central

The trio of striking beaches at Las Caletillas copycat the rest of the island – it’s all black sand, here. They’re a great place to roll out your towel, and are a snapshot of Tenerife’s volcanic roots. But if gold’s more your colour, there’s a blonde stretch of the sandy stuff just a half-an-hour drive down the road at Playa de las Teresitas.

A great base

Las Caletillas is in an ideal spot for checking out other parts of the island. Lively Santa Cruz is only 15 minutes away by car, with its capital-city buzz. Or a 40-minute drive south will land you in the bar-lined streets of Playa de Las Americas. If hiking up Mount Teide takes your fancy, a daytrip’s an easy hour’s bus ride away.
