Holidays to Poros take you to a quiet coastal village where boat trips, beach hopping and seafront strolls top the to-do list.

Village life

Poros is a little village pinned to Kefalonia’s southeast coast, around an hour’s drive from the capital, Argostoli. It may be small, but it’s got bundles of natural beauty to show off – think pebbly beaches with a backdrop of forest-cloaked hillside. Holidays here are of the laidback sort. Afternoons are best spent pottering around souvenir stores and sampling seafood in waterfront tavernas. If you’re feeling more adventurous, you can jump onboard a ferry for a spot of island-hopping – mainland Greece, Zakynthos and Ithaca are all easy to reach from here.
