Ganh Dau Beach holidays give you a textbook introduction to Phu Quoc, with its dazzling coral reefs, soft sands and laidback vibe.
Ganh Dau Beach is one of the best sunbathing spots on Vietnam's Phu Quoc Island. A sugar-coloured stretch of sand sidles up to tropical jungle, and the waters are perfect for snorkellers. It's a quiet place to stay, but there are plenty of things to do nearby if you fancy upping the tempo. In the evenings, it’s all about watching the sunset with your toes snuggled into the sand.
If you’re looking for a place to spot tropical marine life, Turtle Island is a top-notch choice. Hop on a boat here to see coral reefs chock-full of life. The rocks are home to the likes of rays, scorpion fish and turtles – so have your underwater camera at the ready. The butter-coloured sands also make a great spot to relax after your swim.
Hitting the trails
Phu Quoc National Park is the feather in the island’s cap. You can explore the paths by foot or motorbike, passing by huge trees and jumping into waterfalls along the way. The pretty mangroves and cloud-touching mountains are impressive, too. Expect to see mischievous monkeys – like the endangered long-tailed macaque – as you go. It’s a 40-minute drive from Ganh Dau Beach to this place.
