View All DealsUnlike Cuba's party hubs, holidays to Jibacoa are laidback, slow-paced, and come complete with a palm-lined sandy shore.
Drive an hour east of Cuban capital Havana, and you'll stumble upon the small fishing village of Jibacoa. There's a tiny strip of hotels and beach bars, but really it's all about the shoreline. It's powder-soft beneath the feet and lined with coconut palms – the definition of Caribbean bliss.
Hershey Gardens are only a 10-minute drive away, and make an ideal afternoon trip to escape the midday heat. Once owned by the chocolate tycoon himself, Milton Hershey, the wild grounds are almost jungle-like, giving a real sense of tropical adventure. You can even take a refreshing dip in the river.
The water off Jibacoa's beach is calm and clear, so grab your snorkel and wade right in – you don't have to paddle far to get to the coral reef. Sea turtles and rays are some of the biggest stars, but if you're up for a scuba there are also shipwrecks to discover.
