Holidays to Es Figueral, tucked away on the north-east coast of Ibiza, are all about lazing on the beach and pottering around craft markets. And when you want to be a bit more active, Ibiza Town is only 30 minutes away
A great getaway
As resorts go, Es Figueral takes on a less-is-more philosophy. Hidden away on the north-east coast of Ibiza, what you’ve got here is a stretch of golden sand, a clutch of hotels and restaurants – and very little else to distract you from the serious business of relaxation. When you do want more, though, Ibiza Town is only about half-an-hour away.
Es Figueral has a 400-metre sandy beach which comes with a top-notch setting – sun-bleached cliffs, fig tree-lined slopes and views across to the private island of Tago Mago. It’s a relatively quiet beach, but you've got a good quota of watersports here. And a couple of beachfront restaurants have food covered.
The great outdoors
Es Figueral has nabbed a really good spot between pine-covered hills and the sea. See the sights with the Ibiza Express, an open-air road train that takes holidaymakers around the place, including stops at Punta Arabi's hippie market and Cala Nova's beach.
10 minutes’ drive gets you to San Carlos. This former hippie hangout now comes with little one-off boutiques and also has a pretty whitewashed church. Santa Eulalia – about 20 minutes from Es Figueral– is another option if you want see some museums and galleries. And there’s always Ibiza Town for full-on sightseeing and shops.
