Sarigerme holidays put the spotlight on a sandy beach. But you can head into the centre to dig into Turkish treats. Plus, historical hotspot Kaunos is well within reach.
Pint-sized place
You’ll find Sarigerme on Turkey’s south-western coast, and its laidback village vibes match its small size. Head into the centre and you’ll find a mixture of bars and restaurants – just the ticket for trying out regional grub, like kebabs cooked in traditional clay pots. The locals flock here, too, so you’ll know you’re getting the real deal.
Sandy skirt
A picture-perfect beach fringes Sarigerme. Rolling out for a couple of dozen kilomeres, it’s carpeted with sunbed-speckled white sand and is popular with kiteboarders thanks to the rideable waves. Because this sandy spot is slap bang in the middle of a National Park Conservation Area, you’ll have to cough up a small fee to chill on the beach. But, because it’s protected, it’s kept spick-and-span.
