Snorkel in the world’s second largest barrier reef

Puerto Morelas’ most prized possession is the Mesoamerican Reef. Located just 500 metres from the shore, it’s the second largest barrier reef in the world. It stretches nearly 700 miles from the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula, down to the Honduran Bay Islands. Different types of dazzling coral form this underwater wilderness, providing a home and food to hundreds of fish species, marine turtles, and sharks.
