Best time to go to Vietnam
Being such a long country, the weather in Vietnam changes depending on region. As a general rule, there are two main seasons – a wet spell between May and September, and a dry one from November to April. Things really cool down up north in winter, but the south stays warm most of the year. Just remember to pack your suncream if you visit in March and April, as things can hit a sizzling 40°C. Bear in mind that afternoon showers are common during these summer months, too.
Just to let you know, shops and restaurants may be closed or have reduced opening hours around Vietnamese New Year. This is normally at the end of January or the end of February, but the date changes every year.
