Best for three and four nights – Majorca
Thanks to its there-in-a-jiffy flight time, Majorca’s a winner for short breaks. Hop on a plane, and you’ll be there within two and a half hours, so you won’t be wasting any time on a drawn-out journey. Once you’re there, you’ll find that this little island’s packed with things to do. Pick a trip to Palma – Majorca’s capital – and you can spend your time wandering its shop-packed streets and snapping pictures of its 800-year-old cathedral. Then, when you’re done, you can nip over to a close-by, sand-smothered beach. Alcudia’s on the other side of the island – here you’ll find a necklace of sandy beaches, a seafront restaurant scene, and Roman ruins to discover.

And trust us, you’ll want to see it all. Cyprus lines up a winning combination of ancient sights, good-looking beaches, and a big-name nightlife scene. Best for 10 and 11 nights – Florida
Florida holidays are a classic culprit for leaving you wanting more. There’s so much to do here that you’ll need a few extra days to get to the bottom of your must-see list. For starters, you’ve got the theme parks. From Disney alone, there are six parks to explore – and that’s before you add Universal’s line-up to the mix. Florida’s beaches are in a league of their own, too – some of the USA’s top-rated beaches crown the coast here. We’re talking white sand backed by stellar hotels. Speaking of stellar, wannabe-astronauts can get their fix at the Kennedy Space Center. And, shopaholics will be in their element on International Drive.
