Best for three and four nights – Majorca
Thanks to its there-in-a-jiffy flight time, Majorca’s a winner for short breaks. Hop on a plane, and you’ll be there within two and a half hours, so you won’t be wasting any time on a drawn-out journey. Once you’re there, you’ll find that this little island’s packed with things to do. Pick a trip to Palma – Majorca’s capital – and you can spend your time wandering its shop-packed streets and snapping pictures of its 800-year-old cathedral. Then, when you’re done, you can nip over to a close-by, sand-smothered beach. Alcudia’s on the other side of the island – here you’ll find a necklace of sandy beaches, a seafront restaurant scene, and Roman ruins to discover.
