• Rainbow parasails, blue seas and green landscapes – Mauritius is an Instagrammer’s dream. Here are some colour-inspired shots to brighten up any rainy day…

If I had to describe Mauritius in one word, it would be colourful.

Maybe it’s because I spend most of the year in a town that is pretty grey. But the whole time I was on holiday on this gorgeous island, I was captivated by all the colour. From rainbow parasails to blue seas and green landscapes, here are a few of my favourite moments of colour catching in Mauritius

[Clockwise from top left: Even the evening clouds were tinted blue from the sea. // A blue sky from the deck of a boat. // Blue waters. Blue skies. // Blue was definitely the primary colour on our holiday. // An indigo blue infinity pool and beach loungers.]

[Clockwise from top left: Our tour of the island was called “Colourful South,” and it was aptly named. // Our lunchtime view on our tour was all mountain greens. // We had so much fun finding these little friends among all the shades of green. // A green lawn outside the beach bar, which played host to an outdoor barbeque. // Centre: Drinks by the pool – a minty mojito and a passion fruit cocktail.]

[Clockwise from top left: The pool all decked out for an afternoon party. // The Seven Coloured Earths in Chamarel – a natural phenomenon caused by ancient lava flows. // Bright streamers over the pool bar. // I couldn’t decide if my favourite time of day was the pink sunset… // Or the yellow sunrise. They were both pretty amazing.]
