Cerro Mar Colina

The Cerro Mar Colina offers a choice of pools and a great line-up of activities, all topped off with sweeping views of Albufeira.

From its hillside position, this place comes with spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean and Albufeira’s terracotta-topped old town. You can walk to the sandy shoreline in 5 minutes.

Interiors are lovely and bright, with whitewashed walls and plenty of sunlight that streams in through floor-to-ceiling windows. Apartments carry the white motif, too, and they’re finished with simple furniture and sun-trap balconies.

Lovely clean apartments

This aparthotel was just what my group was looking for. The apartments were a great size and had everything you needed in them. A well equipped kitchen full of utensils ( the only thing missing was a pizza slicer!) The complex is spotless so I couldn't fault anything! We had a couple of days of bad weather so took advantage of the sauna and steam room area which is a real bonus. Most hotels you have to pay extra to go in this area! The hotel is situated on a hill and there are over 100 steps to get down to the fantastic square which is full of great places to eat and the shopping is also great.More

Beautiful apartments

By far the most modern and clean apartments I have ever stayed in. Reception staff and cleaning staff were so nice and helpful. It is a large complex and we had a studio but it was so big. Fully equipped kitchen, full fridge freezer, oven, hob, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, hand held whisk, pots and pans, crockery, wine glasses, tumblers, full set cutlery, even Tupperware type plastic boxes, ironing board. Lovely big bathroom with shower gel dispenser on the wall, hairdryer on the wall, also had a bidet. The only thing was the TV was like a little black box but plenty English speaking channels, a flat screen TV would have completed the modern apartment. Beautiful views to the Atlantic Ocean but you are uphill and it's hard going walking back up! There is an Aldi and Lidl supermarkets only 5 minutes walk away.More

Just average!

The apartments are in a good location so long as you don't mind walking down/up steps to the town. This didn't bother us as we are young and like a walk. This is a very big complex and there are several different pool areas which are nice, although they could do with being heated as they were too cold for us to go in! However our apartment was quite dated and could do with a refurb. It also wasn't the cleanest and the shower was not very functional, spraying at the wall rather than us!More

Penthouse with a view

I stayed in these self catering apartments with 7 friends. We had the three bedroomed apartment which had a phenomenal amount of space, two double bedrooms, one twin room and two sofa beds in the living room. The lounge and dining room were a great size and the balcony enormous, with a spectacular view towards the Old Town and the sea. The kitchen was a little small for the number of people wanting to use it but absolutely fine and very well equipped. The apartment had one bedroom with an en suite bathroom and a main bathroom for the rest of us. The facilities were spotlessly clean and the maid came in daily to clean and provide new towels. Only one minor note of caution with this apartment was the capacity of the hot water tank, there wasn't enough for everyone on our first day meaning that some had to endure cold showers. Having said this the showers at the spa were always available if necessary. The beds were a little on the firm side for my taste but I got used to this after a couple of nights. The apartments are in a great location close to the Old Town. Ok so there is a steep walk down to the town but you can easily get a taxi back if you don't fancy a hike up the stairs, taxis cost around 4 euros from the Old Town taxi rank to the apartments. The adjoining hotel's restaurant was very good and useful to have something so handy on our first night. They sell a good range of food including a number of traditional Portugese dishes and the prices are reasonable. Whilst i didn't use the gym or indoor pools some of our party did and were very pleased with the facilities, apparently massages at the hotel spa were very good and very reasonably priced. We didnt bother trying to use the Wifi in the apartments as there are plenty of places in town which offer free wifi. These apartments are excellent value for money and I would definitely go back to them again.More

Nice but a little far out!

This was our first time in Albufeira, it is a lovely hotel but a little far away from the town centre. The main street of bars, shops & restaurants is a 20-25 minute walk and the beach is 30-35 minutes. There is not a lot around the hotel but a small supermarket is inside. The rooms are big and very nice. The pool area is lovely but the actual water in the pool was freezing! The food in the bar was average however the staff are friendly and entertainment is great. Overall a very nice hotel, would stay closer to the centre or the beach if I went back but if you don't mind long walks I would definitely recommend it.More
