Hotel Don Pancho

The Hotel Don Pancho is anchored one block from Levante Beach, with a clutch of bars and restaurants right outside. The centre of Benidorm is only 15 minutes’ walk away, too.

It’s not hard to see why this place bagged a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2013 – it’s got a good-sized pool, lots of entertainment, and a location that puts bars, restaurants, and sands all on the doorstep.

Bedrooms here feature comfy beds and wooden furniture, with walls painted in a warm peach and white colour scheme. They all come with a balcony or terrace, too.

not as good as on previous visits

Have just returned from another week at this hotel and although we found it fine we were generally disappointed this time. The price has risen considerably since last year and we also paid extra for a Superior room on the 11th floor and full board. The room was very nice but not really worth 140euros extra for tea & coffee making facilities and 2 small bottles of water per day! The food was generally disappointing and to be honest we found it boring in comparison to previous stays. Is this the result of Thomson taking over as the major tour operator in the hotel?? The Gala dinner was very disappointing, we had yellow serviettes instead of white and a small glass of cava. The entertainment is still the same mostly dancing with a show at 10.30. We just found it a little old fashioned, time for a revamp in the public areas although we understand the hotel is closing after Christmas for this.More

Visited this hotel for the third time. Food and staff excellent as usual. We were allocated a room on the 14th floor which we found to be very tired and outdated. Returned to reception and were offered to view a Superior Room on the 10th floor which had been refurbished. This we did and found it to be more of the standard we would expect of a four star hotel. Unfortunately this came at a premium of an additional 10 euros per person per night. Extras in the room were a kettle, tea and coffee and two small bottles of water daily. Also a small bowl of fruit and a half bottle of wine on arrival. The room safe was an additional cost. Even though the room had been refurbished the bathroom was original. It is an imposition to have to pay extra for a room of 4 star quality even though some guests were upgraded for free.More

Best in Benidorm

Have visited Benidorm many times but never stayed at the Don Pancho before. Stayed there for one week in September and was very impressed with the overall standards. The Hotel seems to cater for a mature type of client so the whole atmosphere is quiet and calm with nice lounges and seating areas. The entertainment is reserved and in keeping with the overall atmosphere. The food is some of the best I have ever had in a Spanish hotel. I usually go for a hotel in the Riu chain as I feel their food is superior to most Spanish establishments. The food at the Don Pancho is as good as any Riu hotel, if not better than some. The rooms are very dated and in need of updating. They are however kept immaculate by the very good cleaners. On checking in we were offered the chance to upgrade to a renovated room, at a cost of 20 euros a night. This I find odd as the upgraded rooms were only up to what a 4star hotel should be, so in my view those staying in an older room should be offered a discount, and no one should pay for an upgrade. Overall The hotel is an oasis of calm and peace in the centre of Benidorm, which has not changed since my last visit. Should I visit Benidorm again in the future I no doubt will stay at the Don Pancho.More

Not as good as brochure states

Booked Don Pancho hotel Benidorm for a 1 week stay in September and was very disappointed. The brochure gave a very good review of the hotel but in our opinion was it not half as good as stated. The choice of lunch and evening meals was very poor, they seemed to cater mainly for the Spanish clientel. The food trays were not filled up quickly enough or not at all and more often than not the food was cold, apart from breakfast , which was quite good. We wished we had not paid for the meals and eaten out. The décor is quite dated but the hotel is clean and staff friendly The pool is very small 6 people in it and it is full and if you are not up early doors to queue at the door to the terrace you will not get a sun lounger. We will not be choosing this hotel again.More
