Hotel Don Pancho

The Hotel Don Pancho is anchored one block from Levante Beach, with a clutch of bars, cafés and restaurants right outside. The centre of Benidorm is only 15 minutes’ walk away, too.

It’s not hard to see why this place bagged a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence in 2014 – the staff get heaps of praise, there’s lots of entertainment, and its location puts bars, restaurants, and sands all on the doorstep.

Bedrooms here feature comfy beds and a warm colour scheme. They all come with a balcony or terrace, too.

THIS HOTEL IS OUTSTAINDING

ONE WORD FOR THIS HOTEL IS OUTSTANDING. ROOMS FOOD STAFF The hotel is so clean and all of the staff from the chamber maids to the waiters and the reception they all went out of their way to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. After six pm there are no shorts allowed so everyone made the extra effort in the evening for dinner and dancing. The hotel is closed next winter so the Victoria for me, but I will be back in 2017. Thank you for an enjoyable stay. John OsbornMore

A civilised hotel, good clientele, no lager louts.

Spent a nice pleasant ten days in Don Pancho our first return to Benidorm in over 7 years and first time in this hotel. We upgraded to a superior room with views fro the 17th. floor (the top). Don't know really if it was worth the extra money for robes , slippers and water every day. However the food in the restaurant was excellent with enough choices to please everyone and the drinks were very reasonable for a hotel of this standard. The only downside was the air conditioning was not operating as it was technically the winter season although the weather was quite warm. The staff are excellent, efficient and friendly. The hotel also buys British newspapers each day that the guests can borrow to read. All in all we would return.More

Warm welcome

Having checked tripadvisor before booking it was clear Hotel Don Pancho was one of the better hotels in Benidorm, and we were not disappointed by anything throughout our stay. As every review will tell you, all the rooms are well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful, I saw a waitress fetch everything for breakfast from the buffet on my first morning for one of the older gents, who was struggling with getting about, and if I was elderly then I would appreciate that kind of care on my holiday, indeed the vast majority of guests were and there's no doubt the hotel cares about them, hence the clearly high volume of returning guests. We stayed on the top floor (17th) and the views are great from here. The rooms aren't huge by my own, perhaps spoilt, standards but they have everything they should have to achieve an honest 4 star rating in my opinion. I'm not sure what the refurb will entail but knocking a few of the rooms together on the higher floors to create decent suites wouldnt be a bad idea - I'd have paid more all round for this, I'm sure theres a market for it, as I'm in no doubt the hotel will be in high demand once it opens post-refurb!More

a first class civilised hotel

Update of my march review.I have now been to to this hotel eleven times in the past three years ,always short breaks from Southampton, always in winter months. It fills my needs in a way that I cannot fault. The hotel has 250 rooms on 18 floors, all sea facing .200yards from the sea front. The hotel is very quiet ,partly reason of carpets etc absorbing noise but partly by the clients behaviour. It is immaculately clean, all staff are friendly and efficient. Staff turnover is low and many guests are long term repeat travellers. Both good signs. All meals are buffet style with a good choice of good food. Waiting staff are amazing in the way they clear tables etc.The layout of the restaurant and the hotel in general seems to encourage chat between customers and friendships to form. There is also ample privacy for those preferring it. Entertainment is sufficient mainly aimed at the older traveller, swingtime ballroom rather than disco.Different cabarets every evening ..Not likely to appeal to under 30s. Visitors are largely pensioners ,80%British. Bedrooms are of adequate size.Until recently all were identical. Conservatively and comfortably furnished. Many floors have recently been modernised to "superior" rooms at a supplement. I now choose to upgrade for the small refinements and luxuries.Do I really need to? No ,the ordinary rooms give a perfectly good holiday, its just nice. Beniidorm itself ,in winter ,is very different to the common public perception, it is quiet ,no sign of yobs or misbehaviour.Largely pensioners .80% Spanish. Buses frequent and cheap ,stop outside the hotel.Taxis are plentiful and cheaper than UK For those like myself with walking difficulties, it is largely flat with plenty of seats.I hire an electric scooter,Internet or the hotel will do it for you.. Relatively cheap,Delivery and collection f.o,c direct to the hotel.Recharging in the hotels parking area.Unsuitable for use inside the hotel The only fly in the ointment, the hotel closes next winter for some refurbishment of public areas, I have spent much of my last break(this week) looking for alternatives for next year.Visited and looked round about the 10 that seemed most promising.Deeply discouraging, main problem, very noisy because of the use of marble and the resultant echoes, and restaurants more like older style factory canteens.Only 2 remotely suitable. Maybe will have to wait for the Don Pandas reopening in Spring. Hopefully with all the same staff who make it so successful 5Spanish There are 2 smallish smallish well heated covered swimming pools with chairs and sunloungers. I have not used these facilities .More
