A bumper crop of pools, sports, and entertainment makes the Occidental Lanzarote Mar stand out.
There’s every type of pool going here, including a couple with slides, and a quiet one for adults. The sports line-up is just as impressive, with a rock climbing wall and archery among the options.
Kids are well looked after, with clubs and playgrounds. As for location, it’s a five-minute ride on the free shuttle bus to central Costa Teguise, and a five-minute walk to Playa del Ancla – a sheltered, sandy bay.

First Family Holiday as new family
Really enjoyed our stay at the Occidental Lanzarote Mar. Our room was very clean. The food was very good but a little repetitive. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My kids loved the pools. The Chutes very great fun too. The life guards did a great job of keeping inflatables out of the pool with the chutes. We always had the spot we liked by the pool and didn't have to get up at silly o'clock to get it. Not like some people. The all inclusive drinks are self service apart from in the restaurant at meal times. Would definitely return here as we met some lovely people. More

Beware if All Inclusive.
In a nutshell, location very poor - nothing in the immediate area outside of the hotel. To be fair, a free bus runs daily from the hotel to Costa Teguise - 10 minute drive. Beware if All Inclusive: the 3rd ‘Adults Only’ pool, although lovely, you have to pay for drinks at the pool bar - and the staff seem to make up the prices on a daily basis - also, you’re not able to take your own food or drink down to it. Food monotonous and much the same over the 2 weeks. Although a nice hotel, wouldn’t stay there again purely for the location; think a car is required for at least a few days to see the island. Would stay in Costa Teguise itself, or maybe Puerto Del Carmen instead.More

Worse hotel ive ever stayed in.
This is the first time me and my boyfriend have come on holiday as a couple and its my boyfriends first time altogether he's been abroad as he's never been on holiday before and didnt know what to expect. Unfortunately, we had problems with the hotel. - When we arrived here we had been given a room with loads of cockroaches in it, everytime we came back to the room there would be a new one there. We complained and asked to move rooms. We was only here for a week and they gave us a new room 3 days before we left which we thought was silly. When we got our new room the fridge wasnt working, it was hot instead of cold! The lights didnt work and the bed moved as I got into it... - The food here was awful!! They have the exact same food on at both dinner and tea and it didnt taste good either... me and my boyfriend ended up going hungry all week as the food was just awful with no other restaraunts or anything near by to eat. It would of been nice if they had different types of restaraunts on at night, like on a Thursday they have a mexican night. But thats about it. - The only thing nearby is a shop in the hotel which is quite ecpensive. - If you are all inclusive then you would expect everything to be all inclusive when in fact theres not much, your limited to things and even if you are all inclusive you still have to pay and its just half the price. - Their website is also very misleading, it explains that the closet beach you can get to is 5 minutes away... this is in fact wrong, this beech is full of rocks, you cant actually get to it. If you want to stay in the hotel then this is the perfect place but if you want to go out then this isnt the best place to be... its like your in the middle of nowhere... theres nothing nearby and takes about 30 minutes on a crowded bus to get there. When asked at reception they told me I couldnt get on the bus and that i'd have to spend €30 on a taxi!! It also says they have a safari here.. this isnt true. - This hotel is mainly for families with small kids... possibly under the age of 10... otherwise there isnt much to do here. - On a positive note, the entertainment/ activites are really good!! Cant fault it. However, you would have to make your own entertainment at night as it only lasts for 1 hour... - They do have Rancho Texas which is like a zoo thing. I would absoultely reccomend this!! Its brill!! And you get to meet a parrot and dolphin close up!! - When you come to your last day at the hotel if your all inclusive, this finishes at 12, after this it stops and you have to pay. Unfortunately, I dont think we'll be coming back to this hotel. I paid a lot of money for this hotel do im really dissapointed and dont ferl as though I got my monies worth.More

We had a great time the pool was fab food was ok and entertainment was fab however this hotel could be doing with a refurb in the rooms ! No extractor fan which left mould and smell in the bathroom and black mould/water dripping from the shower which we didn't use!!! Really let's this hotel down as the animation team are fantastic! Excellent holiday, room for improvement on food in diner
This hotel for us was amazing!!! There was 16 of us over 6 rooms, all rooms spotlessly clean and cleaned every day! Only down side was the maid never changed the sheets every day, ( minor issue) and the superior family room is not as big as expected it was a normal hotel with pull out sofa as 2 beds. Entertainment was absolutely amazing, fantastic team (keep up the excellent work guys) great holiday had by all, food was disappointing and defo room for improvement but only in the diner! Breakfast time was ok, the snacks by the pool were decent and the hotdog van that came out at 5 had toasties too and was so yummy so never went hungry, lots of nice places to eat in town too 3 euro on a taxi to the town bit, the best beach is beside the town too, we walked one day took just over an hour but was a lovely walk and I'm not a walker normally. Lots things to do, had an absolute ball..... More
