Both go-getters and beach babes will love this hotel – it’s got a pair of pools for lounging by, and a bucket-load of things to do.
Sat in 30 acres of tropical gardens, the Sugar Beach Golf and Spa Resort is postcard-pretty. It’s right on a white-sand beach, and its two pools and two restaurants are pushed up against the sand.
Tennis, badminton and volleyball top the activities agenda. Plus there’s a whole host of watersports on offer, too. After dark, you’ve got the pick of a high energy disco or two laidback bars.

Very good resort
We spent 10 days at Sugar Beach resort and had a wonderful experience with my daughters (14 and 12). The buildings are beautiful, the gardens very well maintained, the beach on your doorstep and the food really really good. The staff are wonderful (can't name then all) and very friendly and the Spa was very good. Special mention to the staff in the clinic who were adorable as we were daily visitors after having cuts from corals and excessive water polo ... The Tides seafront restaurant is beautifully placed literally on the beach, quite pricey if you're not all-inclusive, and at night becomes a bar, music venue, dance floor and club. A fantastic feature is that waiters come out to you on the beach for drinks and food which is pure luxury. Special mention to Vinesh who always had a smile and was very efficient. The teens club was brillant and the girls enjoyed it and made many friends (lots of tears at the end!). The crowd is extremely diversified which I found very attractive. There are so many different nationalities which is a real plus. The buffet restaurant was amazing. So much choice, very tasty food and extremely well done themed nights. The resort even put on a bar and dance floor with foam machine for Bastille Day which was great fun - shame not many guests bothered to stay long. Why only 4 stars? We had a couple of hiccups and at times service was quite slow. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 7pm and after having a temporary room to change and shower, having dinner it still wasn't ready at 10pm - after a 22 hour trip not ideal. We had a couple of freebie activities in our package and one was held a day early so we missed it and we didn't receive other things. Nothing major and maybe we were just unlucky but if you are a 5 star hotel, expectations are high. The beach is beautiful but not that great for swimming due to the corals, algae and all the water sport activities I.e. You don't just walk in swim, you have to watch were you step and the "traffic". Overall, a superb resort and we hope to come back again.More

Our third visit. Amazing hotel with incredibly friendly staff. We will definitly be back. The buffet breakfast and dinner was wonderful. All-inclusive package is highly recommended. We have been to Mauritius 7 times and chose Sugar Beach 3 times and will definitly keep going back.More
Just spent 13 nights at the sugar beach resort and it was one of our best holidays to date. We normally do self catering where ever we go but opted for half board this time. Both my husband and 10 year old daughter are picky eaters but breakfast was never a problem with fresh fruit for all of us, full fry up for hubbie, crepes with chocolate sauce for daughter and most amazing omelettes for myself. We did try one night at both Citronella and Tides but preferred the buffet restaurant for dinner. I have heard a few say how they prefer to have waiter service for dinner but for sheer choice of foods and the opportunity to try/taste different foods, I would definitely recommend the buffet. If like us, you are not big drinkers and don't necessarily need a big lunch, then half board is more than enough. We bought a few snacks at nearby supermarket and some soft drinks and spirits which we were able to store in the mini bar. The kids club have a full programme and was the best I have ever seen. Our daughter dipped in and out of it according to the activities and had a great time. We made full use of the free water activities such as kayaking, pedaloes, stand up pedal boarding and snorkelling. Also used the mini golf and table tennis at neighbouring La Pirogue. We were in 708, 1st floor of a beach front villa and it was perfect. The room was so comfy, plenty of room for the 3 of us and we were right on the beach front close to the quiet pool. We were so relaxed and happy there we only took a few trips - local bus to Quattro Borne market, bus to Casela Park (great day out), Dolphin Swimming, South Island tour with local taxi driver and Catamaran trip. If you are contemplating a trip to Mauritius, I can 100% recommend Sugar Beach - the staff are so friendly and helpful. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary during our stay and they booked us into Tides restaurant and left gifts and bubbly in our room.More
Made my wedding very special!!!!
What an amazing hotel!! I got married in Mauritius last week and held a couple of functions in the resort! The staff here were absolutely amazing taking the stress off me! I can't thank them enough. As for the hotel itself its pure paradise nothing can beat it.. the beach is literally on your doorstep.. the water is so clear and calm! Food is world class they have a different theme, i remember the Indian night being the best buffet I've ever had! Everything cooked fresh in front of you.. Will be returning again soon!More
I'm sitting in the lounge waiting for my pick-up ride and I couldn't wait to start writing a few lines about this beautifully and amazingly awesome resort. Travelling on my own I was a bit scared to be bored for 3 nights. So a good friend of mine recommended me this hotel. His reference was that he worked there about a decade ago and the way he explained it to me get him excited too. So I decided to go with it. Booking was simplified thanks to Isabelle Permal. My transfer to the hotel from the airport was organised too. Arriving to this beautiful resort at 6.30 am and check in being seven hours away was never a dull moment thanks to the charm of all the staff. I wish I could remember all their names but one Anne Clair who was simply brilliant with the way they deal with my situation. They explained to me they were full and would do the upmost necessary to get me sorted. I was sent for breakfast which was great. Then I was sent to a room to refresh myself and my luggage was kept secure for me. Talking about luggage Mr Jean Delaitre was very friendly and very reliable person. Even though it was hard work for him and his colleagues, they carry their task with a smile which they wear throughout their shifts. Breakfast in the morning was mesmerising and I would indulge myself with soft ripened papaya. Their staff was wonderful and the standout person I have encountered was Sheerin. She helped me a lot and suggested I tried different restaurants like La Citronella. Every morning she will greet me with her infectious smile. Now the room is very nice and comfortable. I love a nice bed and I wasn't disappointed at all. Couldn't remember the last time I slept nine hours flat. Diner at the main restaurant was very good but the Mauritian buffet was truly stunning and mesmerising. There's so much more to write but do come and experience the atmosphere. I fall in love with it and so will you.More
