A great location and a huge pool keep guests returning to the Bitzaro year after year.
The hotel’s on the outskirts of Kalamaki, just 5 minutes’ walk into town and double that to the soft-sand beach. Keep an eye out for loggerhead turtles - the sands are their nesting turf.
At the hotel, there’s a huge pool and a big buffet restaurant that serves up a real mix of dishes. There's also a decent portfolio of activities and entertainment.

Marginal 4 star hotel
There are lots of rave reviews for this hotel, but they have been submitted by people who have been to this hotel more then once, therefore they are biased, keep this in mind when reading reviews. We found the hotel a marginal 4 star with just the basics to be called a 4 star. On arrival the check in proved efficient, we were given our room key and an info sheet about the hotel. The info sheet stated long trousers for dinner but this is not the case. I think that if I wore a mankini to dinner I would be allowed access. There is no concierge and no assistance given with luggage to room. Our room proved to be dark and dingy with very little natural light due to 2 large palm trees outside. The lights needed to be on any time we were in the room. The lighting was energy efficient low wattage bulbs, the problem with them is they took 10 minutes to produce any light (we named the room The Dark Hole of Kalimaki). The room was spotlessly clean but tired, with the bathroom providing just the basics. The televisions are 14 inch CRT, not exactly state of art, ours failed on day 1 and was replaced with a 21 inch CRT. The restaurant provided a fair selection of main course food but at the best it was only served warm. A lot of the food was served in or covered with sauces which were not to my taste, the kitchen staff seemed to be over ambitious. Soup is only offered at dinner and there is no choice. Likewise there was only the choice of 1 potato dish (many adults took the chips from the children's corner). Choice of desserts is limited, but ice cream is available at lunch and dinner. However the ice cream scope is placed into a small bowl filled with water after use, this water was not changed for the duration of the meal and became pretty disgusting in a short period of time. At breakfast finding an egg with a runny yolk was like winning the lottery. All the staff at the hotel are excellent, could not have asked for better. The bars are understaffed, the lobby barman was expected to serve drinks, collect and wash the glasses, clean and tidy the tables. This could lead to queuing for a drink. The same problem with the pool bar. The toilets by the pool bar need serving more often, enough said on that. The entertainment was as to be expected in this type of hotel, a mix of games and quizzes with a couple of acts every week. Well done Tom and crew in keeping guests entertained and amused. Have concerns over health and safety, our television caught fire billowing out black toxic smoke. It was at this point I realised that our room (room 142) did not have a smoke detector nor a fire sprinkler. The pool has life belts and a retrieval hook, however these are tie wrapped their stations and cannot be used unless you have a pair of cutters in your trunks. The hotel seems to attract large groups of families and friends, this can be intimidating around the pool and in the bars at night when the alcohol is flowing freely. There is a children's playroom and also a fitness centre, none of them staffed. Did I enjoy the holiday? In an odd way yes, mainly due to the staff. Would I go back? no, there's to much of the world to see. More

Stayed with my wife for ten nights early June. Really unable to find fault with any aspect of this holiday. Staff aways helpful and curtious, food outstanding, place clean throughout the complex. The only negative comment would be the entertainment, which left a lot to be desired, luckily both the wife and I never watch hotel entertainment so never felt disappointed. Would have no problems recommending this hotel.More

Visited here between the 4th June -14th June with friends. The hotel was very clean n tidy, rooms cleaned everyday with fresh bed sheets n fresh towels. All staff very friendly always happy to help. The food was varied n very tasty and the main chef was always there too on hand.nicky at the pool bar was brill n the bar snacks were very tasty too,she even remembered my name when I went the bar to order food n drinks. The only down side was the entertainment which needs to be improved, not a lot goin on,went up to the main bars up the road to get that. I would go back here deafiately again and cannot praise the hotel enough. I did hear while there, they are going to have a refurb which means prices will probably go up next year..I don't think a lot needs to be done myself as long as they keep the same staff this place will be brill.More
