Ölüdeniz resort hotel - brilliant family holiday location.

This is an excellent hotel. We've been going to this hotel for 5 years, sometimes twice a year. The staff are very kind and friendly and attentive - nothing is too much for them. They go out of their way to ensure you have a good holiday. The hotel and staff cater for everybody's needs. This is an all inclusive hotel generally - I am not a fan of all inclusive but the food is great. It's a lovely atmosphere and for us it's like is visiting family.More

Massive dissapointment

This was our fourth year at this hotel and we stayed for two weeks during August. This year there were significant physical changes to the hotel that were a great improvement including removal of the amphitheatre which opened up the hotel and gave good sea views. However, the relocation of the entertainment area was not good and resulted in a much smaller area and if you were watching the entertainment from tables the other side of the pool there was no atmosphere and it was hard to see the acts. The expansion of the restaurant was much needed as there were many times last year where there was a struggle to get a table during the evening. However, this year there were some significant issues: 1) after a few days, we found that things like fried eggs were no longer an option. If you asked for an egg you were told to wait 10 mins. After half an hour we gave up. The food heat lamps are no warmer than a light bulb and therefore hot food soon cooled and things like omelettes were soon cold. Filter coffee wasn’t available after a few days and wasn’t replaced until requested and even then it wasn’t replaced until the following day. 2) There were limited staff in the restaurant who were tearing around the restaurant struggling to keep on top of things but with all due respect, they did what they could. 3) The removal of the oval pool bar changed the character of the hotel and lost its interactive friendly nature. Last year there was an activity pool bar, an oval main pool bar and a lobby bar. This year they reduced this to two bars. Despite Brits and some other nationalities queuing for drinks some people pushed in. One Brit while we were there had a run in with a waiter when someone pushed in and when challenged was told “he Turkish”. 4) Restaurant staff in previous years have worn smart shirts and black trousers and this year they were all in jeans. Not a good look. 5) In previous year’s there were always chefs in the restaurant wearing chef’s hats walking around checking food. This year didn’t see any. In fact, we saw some kitchen staff being trained on the hotplate during restaurant opening hours. 6) Some food items were not replenished. For example, during the evening meal if you got there after 8pm some dishes had completely run out (after 30 mins). Not acceptable. 7) All inclusive finished at 11pm. We were told off for having a table full of drinks even though there were 15 of us and it was a very small round table and the bar man refused to give us any more drinks including soft drinks for kids. 8) Reception no longer air conditioned – stifling hot and uncomfortable especially when waiting around after check out. 9) There was a distinct lack of glasses. For example, when getting a pre-dinner drink from the kiosk bar you had to have a plastic cup and some nights there were only wine glasses for beer. One night I asked for a glass tumbler for vodka and coke and was told these were only for the paid cocktails. 10) Security at the back of the hotel was inconsistent. The lady security officer checked wrist bands but one male security officer remained sat in a chair on his phone and didnt look up to check comings and goings of guests. The water coolers have hot and cold taps which are labelled but not sufficient for children. There was a very bad accident with hot water which ended up in an ambulance trip to the medic centre and severe burns to a child’s thigh. We had a family room around the activity pool that was comfortable but not clean. On arrival there were balls of hair and dust in entrance to the room, in the bathroom and under the table that remained there for the two weeks. Despite accommodating a family of four, the top bunk bed was only made when we made it. Floors were not washed which was evidenced by the blackened soles of our feet! Towels were removed and not replaced. I came out of the shower one night to face a hand towel only! Sheets were stained and dirty even when the beds were changed. Other guests commented on similar issues. The hotel offers sun bed towels at a refundable charge of £10 per towel. However, many of the towels are old and stained and some had holes in them. Some staff were extremely efficient and some not so. Special mention to Cigdem – front office manager who was very efficient, Ali the night manager who was very approachable and friendly, Dennis (Ahmet), Engin Okan and Merve in the restaurant were very attentive and efficient despite having too much to do. Some bar staff were very sullen – Nami, who was friendly at first but changed his attitude after a couple of days of us being there. Ali – (daytime) guest relations was unhelpful, quite rude and when there was a row with a Turkish family he took their side. This seems to be a theme as other reviews on Trip Adviser comment on this. Entertainment team was much smaller than last year. Ozzy and Becca and Mujdat were great though. Entertainment during the day was limited, although there was a pool game most days. We have heard that its expected that this hotel will not offer an all- inclusive package in 2015 (probably evidenced by Thomsons and Thomas Cook pulling out). Since Thomson and Thomas Cook have pulled out it is evident that they are not interested in English guests anymore. Something commented on by quite a few English families during our stay. It’s a shame because if they sort out all the issues it would be an absolutely amazing hotel in a fabulous location. Check out my previous reviews of this place as a comparison to other years. Very medioca

There was nothing that was really good about this hotel to make you think this was a good choice. The room served it's purpose but was basic. The restaurant was busy and the food uninspiring,, buffett only and much the same each day. Their web site boosts an A La Carte , there are signs but it does not exist. Drinks are limited, often at lunch the beer, Effes, was flat. This is normally gasy so wrong mix or watered. I often drink Vodka and Tomato Juice, this was often not available and bar man made no effort to replenish. The Reception service man was not pariculary helpful. Bathroom was not cleaned 1 day. Evening entertainment was poor and to watch it you had to sit round pool in complete darkness, no surrounding lights. The good things- the gardens were nice and walk to beach, across wide public pavement was reasonably short. In essence, went all inclusive but ate out most days for lunch and dinner after reviewing food in buffett. Drank out in local bars in evening to get decent drinks and service. The local town, oludeniz is busy and reminisant of a down market seaside place, mainly loud and bright bars and restaurants with trashy shops inbetween. The good thing was the ability to Para Glide from a nearby 6,000 foot mountain to the resorts beach Would I go again to this hotel or Oludeniz, answer no.More

Family Holiday

I love this hotel. My family and I have been coming to this hotel for 5 years now and each time we are reminded why we love it so much. The staff are amazing there isnt anything they wont do for you. Everyone at the hotel is sooooo friendly and kind, whether its a friendly hello to a full on convosation i am always giggling when i speak with them. The entertainment team get better every year, this years team was excellent. They we all very friendly and tried to include everyone in all activities. The evening entertainment was really good, there was a varity of different shows from traditional turkish dancing to break dancing and acrobaics. The selection of food has imporved , this year featuring a diet corner for all those watching their weight lol. It's a lovely atmosphere I would and do reccomend this hotel to everyone. For us it's like is visiting family.More

By the pool as I write...

This is our fourth visit to this hotel and we find it faultless for the money we paid. The people of this region are so lovely and the beach is absolutely beautiful. Food is great, plenty of variety, and the drinks are plentiful. Have made friends with Ozzie and Becca of the entertainment team and they are such a lovely young couple and brilliant at their job. Will never understand negative reviews given for this hotel, same old story I suppose, people expect too much for amount paid and don't give the Turkish people a chance. Be nice to them and they will be the same to you. Hope to return next year and bring the whole family. Fab hotel and resort.More
