Pefkos Beach Studios

Loading

This is an all-rounder of a place, with swimming pools, a sea-view restaurant and a lively cocktail bar.

This family-owned hotel is in a great spot. It’s less than 10 minutes from a sandy beach, as well as lots of bars and restaurants. Buses outside go to Lindos and Rhodes Town – and there’s even a free one to Faliraki waterpark.

Of the quartet of pools, one has a water feature while another has a little sprinkler for children. A poolside bar serves snacks by day and entertainment by night, while the restaurant does a great line in Greek classics.

lovely holiday but...

We have just returned from a great holiday in Pefkos Rhodes. Pefkos is a small resort, but has plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to choose from. Our personal favourites were 'Hellas' and 'Artemis'. On to the hotel/apartments review. Pefkos beach hotel is in a great location. We booked a superior apartment. I have stayed in other Greek resorts many times and these apartments, although satisfactory, were far from 'superior'! They were comfortable but quite dated. The maids were friendly and changed the towels and sheets regulary (every other day). The apartment could do with updating and a deep clean. I think the maids mopped the bathroom but the apartment floor never looked clean and we had the odd ant crawling about. The surfaces in the apartment were never wiped down and I cleaned them myself when they were really dusty. We never cooked or ate in the apartment, so we didn't actually contribute to any of the dirt. The lower pool area was the best area to spend the day, if you managed to get a sunbed! I have never been anywhere before where people go and place towels on the sunbeds from 7.30am. Half of the time the towels remained on the beds with no people actually using them. This was the same at both pools. I think there are far too many apartments compared to the amount of sunbeds. I wasn't stressing about getting up early to reserve a sunbed when I am on holiday trying to relax, instead we opted to spend most days at the beach. The pool itself looks good at first sight, but after spending time there and having breakfast in the palm bar beside the pool, I noticed the pool area wasn't cleaned very thoroughly. A maid would sweep around, but way after the pool opening on a morning. On previous holidays we usually witness the pool side areas and sunbeds being hosed down and cleaned, as is the pool itself. Here we never saw this and the ashtrays were left un-emptied. I don't expect luxury on a package holiday but I do expect a standard of cleanliness. It was far from dirty, but lots of room for improvement.More

A197340,

Amazing Family Holiday

This was our first holiday to Rhodes and more specifically Pefkos Beach. The whole holiday exceeded all expectations. The pictures on the website do not do justice to the place, it is by far so much nicer . The two studio apartments we had were ideally situated and we had the most amazing views. The pool and pool side bar were just what you needed for a good relax and the staff at the pool bar , namely Christos and Louise were so friendly an welcoming, nothing was too much for them to do. Peflos was as far as we were concerned an ideal place for a holiday, loads of lovely restaurants to choose from for your meals, but it was not a wild raucous area to be in , really relaxing and very friendly. Nicki the thomson rep was really helpful and could not do enough to help, as was Rose in reception. Would we return here again….most definitely yes…loved every minute of the two weeks we were there.More

Excellent Holiday - almost perfect.

Great hotel with brilliant staff and well maintained apartments. We stayed in a superior apartment and it was very nicely furnished with a balcony with a sea view (as requested). It's up the hill so not recommended for the less mobile as the lift doesn't go the whole way. The only things stopping this being a 5/5 review was having to pay extra for a safe and the aircon aswell as the pool sometimes being a bit crowded. (Perhaps paying for the aircon on arrival stops Thomson taking a bigger % of the holiday cost?). Apart from these minor downsides we had a great two weeks. The beach is a 10 minute walk away, the town has more than enough restaurants/bars to keep families and couples happy, and it was nice not having big teenage groups everywhere or people trying to pull you into their clubs like some other resorts would have! Weather of course was great and would definitely go back.More

PorkPanda,

Simply Perfect

Stayed here for 11 nights, Staff were very helpful & room was very spacious & cleaned every day (except Sunday) we were self catering as there are plenty of restaurants to choose from including their own, the poolside bar was very nice which also do snacks & meals till 6pm. Sunbeds were aplenty Air-con was an extra charge but is a must, a word of warning though the hotel is built on a steep hill so there is quite a gradient from top to bottom but there is a small tram to use if you find it hard. But to sum it up, I would definitely go back, loved it. .More

Richard G,

An amazing, relaxing family holiday

I chose Pefkos because of it’s lack of nightclubs, large hotels and rowdiness for a family holiday with 3 teenagers (well almost…15, 17 & 20). I wouldn’t go so over the top about the resort or the hotel as some of the reviews and it is not a place I would visit over and over again, that said I would not be upset to return there, would go back to Pefkos Beach Hotel and would recommend it 100% to anybody looking for a beach/pool holiday in the sun. We had a lovely holiday. Pefkos Beach Hotel If you go with the view to this being part hotel/part apartment you will not be disappointed, it doesn't really have a hotel feel but is far better than many self catering apartments...perfect for us. Pros : The hotel was clean, quiet, had all the amenities you need, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the maid left some lovely surprises on our bed, the beds were comfortable and big, the air-con worked well and was money well spent, the pools were clean and clear, the food in the restaurant was very good, reasonable priced and the waiters were great. The beach really was only a 10 minute stroll away, you would have to be very unfit or have difficulty with mobility for it to be a problem. We were in rooms at the top of the hill which for us was a bonus as it was very quiet with beautiful views. I did not like walking down the steps due to their angle but had no problems walking down the slopped driveway, walking up could be a challenge (but not a problem) when it was really hot but just think of the extra calories you are burning :) there is a lift available if you need it. Cons : There were only two problems - Never any sunbeds left, especially around the cocktail bar pool (the cocktail bar has intermittent free wifi which my teenagers wanted to use), unless you are prepared to get up at 7am to put towels out! My daughter had a continental breakfast on the last day and said the ham tasted funny, she then spent the afternoon with stomach ache and the journey home (in the middle of the night) throwing up! This was the only problem with food we had from the hotel and had eaten there for either breakfast, lunch or dinner every day. Our Thomson rep was helpful and friendly. She told us about all the best local restaurants and places for lunch. She also recommended a BBQ and Karaoke (not really our thing but hey…we’re on holiday) evening at another place she works at. We went to buy the tickets and were quite unsure if we had done the right thing as it was very different to our hotel. The rep was right the BBQ food was great, much better than we were expecting, we all enjoyed the evening. Pefkos itself is very much a tourist village with lots of restaurants, bars and supermarkets. There are some lovely beaches and the sea is beautifully clear although a little rocky underfoot so some beach shoes are a good idea to prevent stubbing your toe. The Lee Beach café is a must for lunch, the food if lovely and very reasonable….this was our favourite place for lunch, although the waffle store on the walk back was a close second. There is a free bus to the waterpark from the bus stop outside Pefkos By Night but this gets very full so be there at least 30 minutes early. Our bus was very over crowded but then stopped at Lindos and told those who were standing to get off and on another bus behind us as there was seats available so worth cramming on for a short while. We had a great day at the waterpark. We took the local bus to Rhodes Town which was again very crowded and we were very grateful it had air-con. It took about 1.5 hours to get to Rhodes Town but this day was not so good as it was just too hot to be walking around and we spent most of the day looking for shade, drinks and ice-cream! If you only do one thing while in Pefkos it must be the Glass-Bottomed Boat. We loved it so much we went twice. It is popular so book a day or two in advance. The first time we went we booked for the 10am 1.5 hour trip, as there were very few on (only us 5 and another family of 5) at this time we even got a discount. It was wonderful, with the opportunity to jump from the boat into the crystal clear sea. We took the same trip on the last day of our holiday and although the boat was full we still had an amazing time. It really is a must do! Overall an amazing, relaxing family holiday….I wish I was still there in the sunshine!More
