I just felt I needed to write another review for this hotel. We stayed here last year and I am so sorry we did not return again this year. We went to Rhodes instead and found ourselves stating every five minutes "villa dorada was soooo much better than this", "wish Bon Bon, Mike and Laura were here to entertain us" what a memorable experience our stay at this hotel was. Keep up the good work. We will probably return again next year. More

Angela C,

Decent for Price!

I've just returned from 11 nights in the Villa Dorada. I was there with my partner and 6 friends. We had a fantastic time at this hotel, the animation staff were reallly friendly, getting everyone involved in the water polo and they also had an inflatable slide at the weekend! The bar staff were superb! They do have a '2 drinks per person' policy which they did adhere to if there was a long queue, but mostly they didnt mind if we ordered more than 2. Rooms were really clean, basic but clean. The temperature of the shower was a bit temperamental. We had an issue where the bath wasnt draining properly - we informed reception and when we returned to our room that night it was sorted. Food was alright, nothing to rave about but there was plenty choice and we all always managed to find something to eat - some nights were better than others, but all in all I'd say it was good. You werent allowed to take food outside of the canteen though - I got stopped and had a banana taken off me which I had been taken for a friend who wasnt hungry enough for lunch but just wanted a banana by the pool. So that wasnt great. The snacks were very basic, burgers and hotdogs and fries which you could tell where definitely microwaved - alright enough as we were all inclusive but wouldnt have been happy if i'd had to pay for them! Daytime entertainment as mentioned was great, night time was alright. They had the usual parrot shows, flamenco dancing, karaoke etc. We rarely watched the entertainment but it always looked busy enough outside! All in all, the hotel was decent for the price we paid, would definitely recommend this hotel if you're looking for a cheap, basic, all inclusive holiday! not too far from the strip either so we were able to go out after the all inclusive finished if we felt like it :)More

Didn't want to leave

There are so many good things about this hotel: the rooms or clean and big, the pool area is large and gets plenty of sun, all the staff and animation team are lovely and very helpful, the shows were very entertaining. There are only a few things that weren't to our tastes: dinner and lunch didn't have enough choice and some times the queue for reception was very long for only small issues. The hotel was in a great location with bars, restaurants and the beaches all very close by with also great trips such as the theme park, water park and Barcelona close by. I spent 12 days in the hotel and I didn't want to leave and I would definitely recommend this hotel. More

i wouldn't recomend

On arrival we were told our room was not ready which when arriving to the hotel at 11.40, this is something you would expect to be sorted. After a few minuets we were then told that our room was ready, when we got to our room, the maid was still in there cleaning it! She was rude and very forceful saying we could not go in, telling us to wait outside. We waited outside and she was gone forever, so we let ourselves into our room after half an hour had passed. After getting changed and heading down to the pool, we then saw the maid cleaning another room on a different floor - was she ever coming back? Now I am not a fussy eater but 2 nights I ended up having a chip cob because the selection of food was so poor or just look disgusting. A burger which was listed as 'a mixed meat burger' it was pink and in all honesty I didn't even attempt to eat it. Mornings we had breakfast - toast. Lunch we ate from the snack bar, their food being ok but very tiny portions and if you were paying for that you would be disappointed! Evening meal we resorted to eating out because we couldn't face eating in their any longer. If you go and don't like to food.. Happy Meal is a lovely place to eat (next to the irish bar!) Drinks - watered down and in tiny plastic cups. Entertainment - What entertainment, there wasn't any and when there was, the children's would start at 9! I don't have children but I think this is too late for children who have been busy swimming in the pool all day? Staff - Reception were VERY rude, bar staff were lovely and all others were lovely too!! Rooms - Dirty and they smelt damp. Our shower went hot then cold and reception didn't do anything about it after complaining several times! The maid came in everyday to 'clean' and all she did was make the bed and change the towels if they were on the floor. One day as I stepped out the shower, I went to dry my hair and noticed a used plaster on my 'clean towel' I took it to reception and all I got told is 'we have an outside company do our cleaning for us' no sorry. NOTHING. 20 euro deposit for a TV remote!! Towels when you get out the shower, they are that small you can not actually fit them around you if your more than a size 12 - some days we got bigger ones. ONE plug socket in the whole of our room - in the bathroom so if you go here please take an extension lead! There was a plug where the TV was but the plug got that hot we couldn't use it for anything other than the TV. Sunbeds - Hope your an early riser because they queue for them and 9/10 most are left untouched for the day but hotel staff wont remove the towels even though there is a policy saying 'no reserving sunbeds' A few good pointers - their WIFI was brilliant (you do have to register but it works fantastic.) The choice of TV channels was okay. Bonbon was a very friendly and helpful young man and even though the bar staff work such long hours, always happy, friendly and willing to help :)More

Joanna D,

I recently stayed at the hotel from the 4th July to 14th July for 10 days. For a 3 star hotel it was not great, the staff were moody and unpleasant, the food was the same every day also the burgers were under cooked I knew this because it said mixed meat so they shouldn't be pink inside, the drinks were watered down, the coke was flat and this was daily, rooms weren't cleaned properly as we had the same dirty towel for 4 days. I don't think the pool was big enough to house all the people who stayed at the hotel, their was no night entertainment which meant you had to spend more on going out, their were cracks on the walls which was dangerous, the safe to keep your belongings in was 50 euros and you only get 5 euros back in return, the hair dryers you had a deposit of 20 euros and the control for the Tv. Their was 3 beds in our room and they weren't comfy, one was nearly breaking underneath. To say this was a 3 star hotel you would think it was a bit more decent than what I'm saying but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone and I won't be coming back, end of. More
