Mythos Studios combine a peaceful setting with a nearby beach and walk-to bars and restaurants.
These studios are in a hideaway spot amid rolling countryside layered with pine trees. That said, they’re only 10 minutes’ walk from a sandy beach, and even closer to shops, bars and restaurants.
There’s a rectangular pool with a little circular pool for children at the end. And drinks and snacks come courtesy of a café and a pool bar, which is also open in the evenings.

Great place to relax
My partner and I had a relaxing week in Troulos. The Mythos was a great base. Nothing flashy. Just a simple hotel with basic facilities. Just what we wanted. We stayed in room 11. The apartment was clean and tidy and comfortable. I had no problem with the bed unlike other guests. The self catering facilities were laughable but then they always are. We've come to expect this. Ok for breakfast and snacks but otherwise you need to eat out. The pool area was fine and never crowded. No problems with noise from the bar area but I wouldn't want a room right next to it Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing to do with the hotel, we both liked it but Troulos left me underwhelmed. Next time we would stay in the town and get a bike so we could head out to the beaches More

"Why did we have to leave..........!!!"
My wife and I travelled to Mythos Resort Apps. on 11th July having booked for 3 weeks. In over 31 years of travelling to Greece, we both agree it was our best ever holiday abroad! We were in Skiathos 3 years ago. We stayed in Koukounaries and vowed to return, but to a different resort. We picked Mythos in Troulos because we wanted to be, not too far off the beaten track, but yet far enough from the maddening crowd! We got exactly what we hoped for, and more, We would both have settled on the apps. being o.k. and nothing major going wrong. The apps. were lovely, basic, but clean and we were lucky enough to get a fantastic view from our balcony in room 308, which became home for 3 lovely long weeks. We had asked for a high level room and that's what we got. We kept our balcony doors open at night, closed the curtains, kept the air conditioning off and plugged in 2 mosquito repellent heaters. Did the trick fine. Only seen 2 in 3 wks. Our room wasn't too hot at night, partly to do with the positioning of the room and partly to do with the fact that I like heat !!! I don't quite understand the reasoning behind complaining about the heat or insects. If you go on safari to Africa you can expect to come across searing heat and the odd lion or two, so when in Greece, expect heat and mosquitos, it goes with the territory! and after all I'd rather face a mosquito than a lion, any day. Our rooms were cleaned daily, the pool was perfect, not too large, not too small and cleaned every night. The pool snack bar, does exactly what it says on the tin, only very well. The Owner Stavros and his very hard working barman Stathis of whom both, I can't speak highly enough, were always on call to help, with a taxi call, directions, places to go etc. The snacks they made were home made and delicious. We mixed and made friends at the pool, although if that's not your scene it's just as easy to be left alone. There was music, both Greek and British played at the bar, however it wasn't a bother by the pool as if you moved further away you could hardly hear it, move closer and you could. Jamie the Thomson rep. is new to the job just this year, and is learning fast, that just because someone goes on holiday, it doesn't necessarily mean they'll be courteous and respectful. (Even grumpy people take holidays), unfortunately.!!! He helped make our holiday that little bit more special and I'm sure come next year he'll be a seasoned professional. We found the kitchen adequate for breakfast, lunch and snack type dinners. We tended to eat out for our evening meal as the choice of tavernas and food, close by was second to none. The main town Skiathos is only 20-30 mins away by bus and is a must see. (Fantastic atmosphere). Great bars, eating out, open air cinema, private yachts, low landing planes at the airport, absolutely brilliant. The island itself is lush green and linked by a network of dirt tracks that criss-cross the mountains and valleys and lead to numerous beaches. We hired a quad bike and i was in heaven! The scenery up there is unbelievable. To recap. Location: Excellent, STAFF: ABSOLUTLY FANTASTIC, Apps.: Clean, tidy, fit for purpose, Pool: Brilliant, Thomson Rep: new but showing great potential. We are looking forward to returning in the future and once again feeling the warmth and friendship showed to us by all the staff at Mythos, from cleaner to owner and barman to family. What a wonderful stay. Many thanks to Stavros, Stathis and All the family members who made us feel so welcome during our stay. Until the next time, Bye for now, Samuel & Diane.More
You can't go wrong booking a stay at this resort
We stayed from the 11th of July to the 18th. Cliff and jane Morgan. On arrival at the airport the rep told us that our luggage would be travelling separately to us? on arrival we were dropped off at a wooden gate at the side of the road? We were told to walk through the field and follow a track until we saw a sign for Mythos resort, after a few minutes very pleasant walk we saw it, then as we went over a small hill we were greeted by a man with a clipboard (stavros) standing in the grounds of a beautiful Resort, from that moment on i knew we had chosen the right hols. I then realised why the luggage came on a pickup truck, many thanks as i would not fancy a walk with it to Mythos. Stavros told us that our luggage would arrive shortly and to take a seat in the bar as our room wasn't quite ready, we were grateful of a sit down and a cold drink, 20 mins later we were shown our baggage and our room. The room was basic as this is what i had paid for and was extremely clean with a balcony at the far end, we were very satisfied so far with the accommodation as it suited our needs perfectly. The pool is more than the average size for any appartments that i have seen in greece, it had plenty of sun beds around it, the bar was easily accessed for a drink or a light bite snack at lunchtime with a small but adequate menu, was very good food too. This Resort was perfect for our needs, the maid turned up for work in the morning and her first job was to wipe down the sun beds around the pool, daily! then all of the rooms were cleaned to a very good standard daily, the towels were changed every couple of days and the sheets half way through the week, you could not ask for more. The safe and air con was 50 Euro's for the week of which i was satisfied with but would rather pay a premium for it when i booked the hols as it being included would have been better and make the hols complete with no extra charges. Troulos is truly amazing! The people are very friendly, the food at the local restaurant's was fantastic especially the Salt and Pepper and Ratatoule and you can expect to get a good meal and a couple of drinks for around 30 Euro's. The beach is about a 15 min walk from mythos but a pleasant one with loads of sun beds and parasols for 7-8 euro's for 2 beds and a parasol for the day. Plenty of waterspouts too unless you want just to relax as we did. The bus service is very good too 2 euro's gets you to skiathos town and the same for the ride back but be prepared to be a sardine for a while as they will cram as many onboard as they can on the return journey. NOW FOR THE BAD POINTS! Cant think of any...... Had a fantastic week and will return in September this year!More

Be under no illusions about what you are buying into!
Read all of the other reviews very carefully as they all point out exactly what is wrong with Mythos resort; however, let's be positive first, the location is great, very quiet and off the beaten track if that's what you prefer. The beach is less than ten mins away if you find the shortcut (which we didn't until the end of the holiday), turn right just before the first taverna on the right, follow the path and hey presto, Trulos beach; as others have said, its half an hour if you go the long way but then again think of the calories burnt! Other than the location, Mythos resort has little else to shout about, yes the owners/staff are very nice people, the small bar is friendly enough, the drinks are good as are the bar snacks by all account; but that is it, small clean pool but very noisy and you cannot relax there at all without plugging in your ipod. Huge tip is to get a taxi from the airport, its 20Euro and worth every cent, no messing around with luggage or walking or waiting for the bus at a boiling hot airport; do the same going home as well. Aircon is a must but at 35Euro is a bit of a con, the safe is 20Euro and again is a bit of a con as you are more likely to get robbed by a pesky Brit than the owner or his cleaning team; we left ours open by mistake one day, full of stuff but nothing was even touched, room service didn't even close it over for us. Trulos beach is fantastic, hire a jeep locally for 60Euro and see the whole island in a day, the bus goes everywhere for 2Euro, local tavernas are all similar but all good (Salt and Pepper is the best by some distance and worth every single penny); if you have not been to Skiathos then its definately worth a week or so of your downtime and attention. Now for what's wrong! Mythos resort is as basic as it comes, we nicknamed it Camp Bastion (with no disrespect to our brave service men/women), it just reminded us of what we had seen on Sky news! The beds are unacceptable, planks of broken wood laid across a wooden frame, we dragged the thin matresses on the floor one night - even that didn't work; if we had been staying for more than a cheeky week in the sun then i'd have abandoned the place by day three. The shower heads are mouldy and loose, shower tray leaks all over the floor, we gave up worrying and flooded the place each night, the owners didn't seem to care so neither did we. Its in the middle of nowhere so mozzies are lively, we used spray and an in-room plug which kept them at bay as long as you keep the windows closed; killed dozens on the first night tho as the room had been open all day. Forget about self-catering, the units would be condemed by any European standards and are illegal for use in the UK; dangerous does not even begin to describe them, eat out as there are enough Tavernas within walking distance and the cost is minimal. Pool and surroundings are basic, nothing more although everywhere is clean. The bar areas plays music until 1am, not a problem for us but I can imagine it could be a huge deal if you got a few roudy Brits in having a good time; many people have complained but its a huge source of income for Stavros so don't expect him to do anything. The Thomson rep is a lovely young lad, just starting out on his career journey and will do whatever he can to make things work; just make absoulutely sure what you are buying into, it is never a three star (or three-t Thompson and they know it!) - cheeky week in the sun and use it as an absolute base camp only, nothing more. Beware what you are paying for!More

Lovely Holiday - Will Return!!!
Myself and my partner stayed at the Mythos Resort between the 11th July and the 18th. I have always been one for All inclusive holidays and i had my reservations, as my partner goes on self catering, basic and cheap holidays, I decided I would try his favoured way and I am so glad I did. We got there at about 12-1pm and told to sit at the bar because the rooms weren't ready, which, yes a free drink would of been appreciated, however they are trying to run a business so a couple of euros for a drink wasn't really an issue. We waited by the bar for the room to be cleaned and about half an hour later we got shown our room which was basic, yes, but isn't the point of self catering that you go out and explore new places to go and eat?? The shower head wouldn't stay up so we just used it as handheld, was annoying but not the end of the world, we could manage. Both our bedside table lamps were broken, the plugs wouldn't work as we did try other things in the plugs, but again it wasn't the end of the world, we didn't report it as we didn't see it ruining our holiday, you get what you pay for, and believe me you can pay a hell of a lot more and get broken things in hotel rooms, lets face it, how long do you spend in the rooms and isn't a holiday what you make of it?? We didn't use any of the facilities in the kitchen as we wanted to support the local businesses and go out to eat, we also ate by the pool bar most days, be it lunch or dinner. All the food at the bar is brilliant, there isn't a lot of choice, no, but how much would you put on a menu cooked by hand on your own, day in, day out?! Stavros makes the most amazing pizzas, he is so friendly, he even told me how he makes them and showed me what he does, talked me through it. (the night we got home we even made our own homemade pizzas we were so inspired, haha) The club sandwich is lush too. He just got a kitten, Jonathon, who is absolutely adorable and really gives the place a homely feel, He has his young son there with him most of the time, and his mother i believe, he employs a guy who works behind the bar and does the cocktails, All of them are very friendly and made us laugh when we stopped in for a drink every night. They play english and greek music by the bar and it isn't too loud really, we never heard it but then we were in room number 6 which was right the other side of the hotel. The pool area was immaculate however it did miss some cushions for the sun beds, the pool bar wifi works well and works by the pool too, doesn't work in your room, no, but seriously who wants to go on holiday to be using the wifi all the time, why don't you just stay at home?? We only stayed for a week, we wished it was longer, Skiathos itself is beautiful and from bus stop 20 (nearest Trulos beach and Mythos) is 2 euros each to get to bus stop 0 right near the town, so not too expensive, however avoid the times 5pm-7pm as every one is coming back from Koukounaries beach and they will literally ram as many people on that bus as physically possible!!!! in town the Cos' Altro restaurant is lovely and they do a meal for two which is 30 euros, garlic cheesy bread with cucumber, tomatoes and tzatsiki, then a mixed grill with homemade chips for main, you have to try it! they give you a little desert too which is a nice touch. we chose that for our last nights meal as we enjoyed it so much on our first night. Also nearer the hotel the ratatouille restaurant was gorgeous too. The walk to the main road from the beach is long, yes, and there is a hill (when i say hill, i mean a slight hill) its not a mountain like people make out. however we are late 20's early 30's so i guess in the heat an elderly person may not be able to cope with the hike. we quite enjoyed it as it made us feel less guilty about what we were eating!!! We went down to the airport one day which was amazing, really good to see the planes come in and take off, you can literally feel the power coming from the planes.. The sea is lovely, warm and really clear, if you can, go to Koukounairies beach, it is beautiful. very busy, but absolutely breathtaking. I am really funny about the sea and whats beneath my feet, on Koukounaries beach there is just sand, no stones, no seaweed, just pure sand while your in the sea, i couldn't believe i was on a beach so lovely. we only got to go there once, we stayed on Trulos beach for two days of our holiday, which is a lot quieter, 7 euros for a pair of sun beds (with cushions!!!) and an umbrella, which isn't too bad, we paid this one day, the other day on the beach was spent laying on our towels and lilo. I would seriously recommend this holiday to anyone, obviously if you're a snob and you like everything just the way you want it maybe this isn't the place for you, but if you look for the good in a place and make a holiday a good one with what you have then this place is amazing, it is away from the main road, no noise except the crickets are heard when you're by the pool, the only noise we heard in the room were the people above us and next doors air con, we didn't buy the air con for the week as the room had little sunlight and was kept cool at all times, we just had cold showers to cool off if we did get too hot. We also didn't have the safe for the week either, its a family run business, we trusted them, and we had nothing go missing, its not worth their reputation, Overall my partner and I would highly recommend this hotel, and island, our only regret was that we didn't stay an extra week, or didn't get a chance to steal Jonathon and bring him home with us (I made the mistake of telling Stavros it was my plan! haha) We will certainly return, and probably bring our son and other people with us too. â¨â¨Thank you to Stavros and his lovely family and team for having us, and for making our holiday one to remember.More
