Buy embroidered lace in Karya
A chemist, bakery and supermarket make up Lazarata’s shopping centre, so most people head to nearby Lefkas Town to browse for clothes and souvenirs on the pedestrianised Goulielmou Derpfeld Street. Or you could pop along to Karya, 10 minutes’ away, to buy embroidered lace direct from the women who make it at this little mountain village. There are some lovely examples at the folklore museum just on the outskirts too.
