Eat mussels by the oceanfront

Being so close to the Atlantic, there’s never a shortage of seafood in Ponta do Sol. Pull up a pew at one of the oceanfront restaurants and ask the waiter for a plate of lapas grelhadas to share. These sizzling mussels are a great way to kick off a meal. Afterwards you can go for espada, Madeira’s signature fish dish, or a succulent tuna steak. Wash it down with a light white wine.
