Check out the shipwreck at Smuggler’s Cove

Smuggler’s Cove is the most-photographed beach in the whole of Greece, and a holiday to Zante wouldn’t be complete without seeing what all the fuss is about. The name comes from the ship that washed up on these shores in 1983. The wreck lies half-buried in an arc of golden sand, framed by steep white limestone cliffs. It paints a striking picture, which can only be seen from out at sea. Boat trips to the bay leave from Porto Vromi and Cape Skinari, around an hour’s drive from Vassilikos.
