Hysterical hotel manager, accused guests of Covid.

Hysterical hotel manager accusing Covid to their guests We were thrown out of the hotel as a football team and accused of having the coronavirus. But I'll start at the beginning and tell you the whole story. In early March we arrived in altea as a soccer team and wanted to enjoy our time there. The time was good. We enjoyed the weather. When the news about the Covid virus reached us, the hotel had to take action, like stricter controls in the buffets. Long story short. When we came back from shopping, we were histerically shouted at by the hotel manager. We were stunned and didn't know why she reacted that way. She claimed that we hadn't behaved and that all 40 people had been partying loudly until 4am last night and treated the hotel staff unkindly. But this was not true at all.First of all we were only 4 people sitting together in the hotel bar downstairs. Besides, our team consists of 24 people. But at no time we were too loud. She also claimed that we wanted to attack her. She called the police if we did not leave the hotel immediately (without warning etc.). The organizers of our soccer stay and the hotel manager wanted to calm down the director, but without success. She only became more angry when someone contradicted her. Everyone was embarrassed by the situation, except the director. She called the police and wanted all 24 of us to disappear. We didn't want to leave because she was exaggerating, and with the current situation about the virus, it's hard for all of us to find a hotel together so easily. (Not to mention that it was our last day and that we would leave the next morning anyway). Talking etc. did not help. She called the police. The police told us there was nothing they could do. They would understand our point of view and would also consider her behaviour to be excessive. She was known as "the Princess of Altea". They advised us to sue her. We did. When we saw the Director's statement, we knew she was completely overwhelmed by the whole situation. The accusations were so arbitrary that it was clear she was lying. We had to leave, we were thrown into the street, she was visibly relieved and had a big grin on her face. 24 people, in the middle of Altea and then the situation with the Covid virus. Fortunately we could find a hotel (thanks to our organizer and ALBIR Garden). Now comes the best. The police also arrived at the other hotel because the director said we threatened her with death. Just unbelievable, ridiculous and embarrassing... To sum it up. It was nice in Altea, the staff was friendly to us, we were friendly to them too (we had fun and laughed), many things fit. Fine, there were ants in the room or that the walls lost colour, we didn't find it that bad. But the situation with the overstrained and histeric hotel manager, who very likely got the job "for free", was just sad. I just want to tell you all that there are better hotels in the area (for example Albir Garden, they also knew the reputation of the director, and they understood us), with a much better director. The injustice we have seen here cannot be surpassed. On the picture you can see the blonde woman, the director and us, who were abandoned on the street. Nevertheless, we did not let this person spoil our mood.

Excellent cycling facilities. Clean rooms. Food however is absolutely terrible. Paella 4 days in a row. 2 week old bread for breakfast. And they charged 82€ for a one-way bus trip to Alicante airport.

Stayed here for a week in November 2019. Hotel was lovely and staff very friendly. Food was good but very repetitive, had fried bread on the first morning but replaced by hash browns all week which I detest ! All in all we had a great week though
A wonderful hotel in a picturesque setting

My husband and I have just spent 3 very relaxing days at Cap Negret, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Right from Check-in we were impressed by the lovely welcome, the efficient staff and the excellent service. The bar and restaurant staff deserve a special mention as they work so hard. Yes, there are a lot of lycra clad cyclists wandering about, but they didn't bother anyone and kept to their own groups. The pool area and location right on the beach are lovely and the relaxing ambience around the pool bar really helped us to completely relax. We would be back to this lovely part of Spain and have no hesitation in staying at Cap Negret.
Not for us

We booked a package holiday & arrived early afternoon. Immediately on check in we were asked if we would like to upgrade our room at a cost of a further €25 per night. We said no as we felt we had already exeeded our budget. The receptionist insisted that we see the room on offer which we did & agreed it had a lovely sea view. We asked to see our allocated room before we made a decision but surprise, surprise it wasn't ready & wouldn't be until after 4pm. I asked where our room was situated & was told that it would be the one next to reception with no view. We reluctantly gave in (due to fatigue) but regretted our decision the whole time we were there. Apart from that we noted that meal times were often difficult. In the evenings tables were laid up for large groups leaving very little room for couples. Every evening we observed that there were no tables available & guests had to wait or eat outside. Dishes at the buffet were often empty & not replaced for some time. Bread at breakfast was a case of "when it's gone, it's gone". On our return home, we gave our feedback to our tour operater but they were not interested. Apart from the sea view our upgraded room was actually not that great on closer inspection & was in need of a refurb. We loved Altea but would not stay at this hotel again..it was not for us.
