The clue’s in the name at the Yellow Alvor Garden – it’s a peaceful place surrounded by good-looking greenery.
Relaxation's the theme at the Yellow Alvor Garden. That goes for the pool area, the laid-back entertainment scene, and the big gardens.
The fishing village of Alvor's less than a 20-minute walk away – or less, if you jump on the shuttle bus to the beach.

Good Value for money
Got back last week from a week in this hotel and i really cant complain about it at all. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. the gardens and pool are good and there's terrapins and carp in some of the ponds. The food had a good variety but was your standard all inclusive favourites. The room was nice and just enough room for me and my partner, however could do with a lick of paint and for any more than 2 it would be cramped. but there was english channels on tv for if you wanted to kill time. The rooms were cleaned everyday whilst we were there and cant complain about that at all. Going at this time of the year imo was perfect the weather was high 20's low 30's each day and if you get the sunbeds in between the pond and pool you have sun all day. the only downsides for myself and my partner were the fact that the evening entertainment was just singing acts there was no variety, so most evenings we just walked down to the harbour which i will say offer you some amazing sunsets. its about a 15 minute walk down to the harbour or a quick taxi ride. Secondly half way through the holiday a coach load of french arrived which stuck together like glue and if you timed going to eat wrong you'd get stuck behind them. Some of them were quite rude but that's their issue not the hotels. The only positive to this was that they didnt use the pool so it was always quiet at most points there wouldn't be more than 5 people in the pool. The town offers a good variety of bars and restaurants if you want to eat out i can highly recommend the Italian opposite the sunset bar. The Beech is a taxi drive away we walked from the harbour and we wouldn't do it again it was quite a treck. All in all for what we paid for this holiday i would go again it was a nice chilled out week with my other half.More
Excellent value for money
So after reading some of the negative reviews about this place, we assumed we would have to eat out most nights, although we were all inclusive. Not sure what people expect when they go on holiday, the food here was more than adequate!! Although there wasn't a big selection, the hotel itself is not that big, the selection that was on offer was excellent, well cooked and tasty with a good selection of meat and fish. Yes i would agree with some other reviews that the breakfast was probably our least favorite, however lunch and dinner were excellent, we didnt have a bad meal once! For £420 for a week all inclusive including transfers, what more do people want?! Hotel itself was well looked after, friendly hotel staff, well maintained gardens and rooms cleaned every day. Location was a 20 minute walk to the town center, 30 to the beach, but there were shuttle buses available. Only thing i would say, which we knew before we went, was there is no iron/board in the room. Dont be put off by the negative reviews on food, unless your looking for Michelin starred food, then yes, dig deep in your pockets and go somewhere else! A nice relaxing resort where you dont have to get up at 4am to get a sun lounger!More
First Algarve Visit
The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. Our beds were a little hard though it Did,nt detract from the enjoyable holiday we had. The gardens are lovely lots of areas to have a little solitude if needed. The food was ok always able to find something to your taste although did use the microwave a fair bit.You need to be reasonably fit as it's a fair walk into Alvor itself but enjoyable if you like a walk. The river trip to Silves is lovely .This can be booked on the quayside. We were very lucky the weather was amazing 34°for 14 days.Overall Yellow Alvor Garden have the best of both worlds small and friendly but on the edge of all you need for a lovely holiday. Many Thanks.More
Stayed for 4 nights at the Yellow Garden 1st -5th October. Room 221 overlooking car park and hotel opposite. Noisy until 11.00 most nights due to their entertainment. Would recommend you try to get room over looking pool and gardens. Staff pleasant and helpful. Free shuttle bus runs 3 times per day from the hotel . Recommend that you get there early for tickets as only 8 seats. Alternatively walk approximately 20-25 minutes into the village, shops supermarket, lovely sandy beach and harbour. A few young familie staying, however generally very quiet, older guests staying. Food plentiful and varied contrary to other review. Lots of salad, fruit, local dishes, and chips if you want them. Breakfast continental, cereals, fruit, and 'fried' available however the scrambled eggs and sausage not very good quality. Apart from some breakfast options we enjoyed our stay, ate and drank various meals and drinks. The hotel is a bit tired in places decoratively, however the rooms and areas are cleaned daily. The staff all work hard and never seem to stop. I would stay here again More
Cheap and cheerful . Not local to the main part . 5 euro in a taxi or a 25 min walk Food not the best Drinks at pool bar if poured by the older woman are terrible measures half a normal measure. All in all not the best . Wouldn't stay here again More
