I recently stayed at this hotel and it was a pleasure. The staff were very gracious, knowledgeable and patient. The room was clean and fairly large. We sat in the bar one night and really enjoyed ourselves. Plus the location was perfect.
Old and shabby

Reading all the gushing reviews about this run down hotel is making me wonder if TripAdvisor can be trusted anymore. At $350 for my one night stay, I didn’t expect anything fancy but the rooms were an absolutely dump. I can’t believe this hotel is even in the Marriott system. I knew something was not right when the front desk associate did not acknowledge my elite status using the usual script. She also was dressed very casually in a loose sweater and had no name tag. She did not offer any of the usual membership amenities or tell me about the beverage credit. Then she assigned me a room. I asked if there was an upgrade and she said the hotel was sold out. The room I was assigned was a postage stamp overlooking an air shaft. It was also just really old and looked like a hostel. It was humid and hot and the ac sounded like a jet plane. I went back to the front desk and waited another 10 minutes in line. When I told the associate my room was a dump, she said she’d give me a better room (apparently they were not that sold out). She assigned me a room on the elite floor which was a reasonable standard size with a tiny bathroom. The ac was fine but the bed cover was nothing more than the thinnest blanket and no extra blankets in the closet. The bathroom was really old (see photos of rust on tiles, bubbling paint and wallpaper) and the auto flush toilet didn’t work so I had to find the button to flush which didn’t work unless I kept it pressed down for 5 seconds. It was late so I didn’t bother calling for more blankets. I just folded my covers in half to make it more warm, like I was sleeping at a shelter. On the positive, the gym was decent (with complimentary apples) and there is a Starbucks in the building for a quick breakfast. Lighting in the room was decent as well as were plug locations. Will not be staying here again as the rooms are really old and shabby. I can’t get over the weirdly good reviews of this place.
Avoid this hotel at all costs

Out of all my stays in Marriott properties, this was absolutely the worse. Miserable and unmotivated staff - front desk, valet, baggage handlers. Incorrect information about amenities and what was included in room. Smug check in person. Requested late check out and my keys were turned off. Room was on AC and 66 degrees in January with outside temperatures below 40. No bath mat. Zero consideration applied to my loyalty or my Ambassador status. Took multiple attempts to obtain simple requests and services. ALL calls were never answered when calling for assistance. Always had to go to lobby - requests, late check out request, valet, baggage. Crap hotel and crap service. Not to mention resort fee is a joke and pointless. No material value....I still have my useless coupons! I haven't even reviewed my bill yet and guarantee I received inappropriate charges due to this absolute incompetent staff! Good location though and Starbucks attached to lobby is only value.
Almost perfect hotel

The location is central making it a great base to play tourist.... The staff were friendly and extremely helpful .... the rooms were adequate....My only slight issue with this lovely hotel is that at a certain standard I want glass and pot cups in my room not paper !!!
