Excellent hotel with helpful staff in the center of Reykjavik where you can fulfill all your needs by foot (supermarkets, local bars with music events, cinema, bus stop for sightseeing tours). Even low-priced snack bars for Icelandic hot dogs and fish & chips are nearby (also recommended "Arabian Taste" in Laugavegur 87).

Room was too warm, and elevators and lobby too small

My wife and I stayed in this hotel as part of a group tour that had gone to Iceland to see the total solar eclipse. The room was very warm even though it was usually only in the 50s (Fahrenheit) outdoors, both day and night, and there is no AC in the hotels in Iceland due to the climate. We had to keep a small window open all the time so the room wouldn't get even warmer.

We came with 16 people in our tour group. Staff was fantastic! Especially Adrianna at the delicious morning buffet and Jose at the very cool Beer Garden, they were super friendly and helpful! Rooms were comfortable. Atmosphere was very nice. Location was convenient to walk to nearby shopping and places to eat. Would definitely come back!...

Our recent stay at Fosshotel Reykjavik was a mixed bag. Great location with bus stop 12 right outside for trip pickups. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was great, decent size with big bathroom, fridge and coffee machine. Breakfast was a decent buffet which was regularly refilled. Our first day was great.
