Antilia Apartments

Tavronitis is a small village away from the main resorts - making it ideal for those that like a bit of peace and quiet. However the regular and cheap local bus service runs along the coast to a number of places should you want more civilisation. Stelios is a fine host with a great command of English and an equally good sense of humour. The apartments themselves are basic, but clean and comfortable with most the things one would need. To be fair they don't claim to be anything else, so as long as your expectations are managed, you will not be disappointed. There is a fairly steep hill to the apartments from the village/beach - but unless you're infirm or completely unfit; they shouldn't be prohibitive. Anyway, we had a great time - and would give serious consideration to visiting again when looking for a break....something others have already done judging by the number of repeat bookings others staying had made.

What can I say that has not already been said. This place is perfect for peace when you need it and accessible to other places when you require more lively entertainment. Stelios is the heart and soul of the apartments always on hand to give advice or a lift or two. I stayed with my teenage daughter and sister we did not hire a car but found the local bus service ware great and reasonable. We had a two bedroom apartment with 2 en-suites large enough for a larger family also each apartment had it own balcony with a view to die for. We have spent the last 2 weeks finding out about Crete and it ppl and had a fantastic base to work from. Cannot praise this place highly enough. 1 downside there is a steep hill that you have to climb each day if your on foot so leave a little extra breath in your body for it because you will need it. Nice to have a car but not a must you can find local services very good. If ever we return to Crete and Stelios would accept us it is the only place we would stay. Rooms cleaned on a daily basis cleaner not much English but very helpful with sign language ❤️❤️❤️sorry about the pics were taken on our last night when we were getting every thing ready to go home. I had been looking at the reviews a few months before arriving at the Antilia and I wasn't left disappointed. I travelled with my partner and 3 children. Lovely spacious apartments with 3 balconies, apartments were well equipped for what we needed, aircon was a huge bonus and was so needed, the beds were really comfy too. The pool was lovely, and it wasn't over crowded round the pool either. It was lovely and quiet so if you like it lively Antilia probably isn't the place for you. We did hire a car for 4 days and did some travelling to some fabulous beaches and the car was a huge bonus due to the steep road that leads to the apartments, we did walk up it too. Lovely tavernas in the little village, we went to all of them. Greek portions are huge I think we only finished 1 evening meal all week so if you like big dinners Crete is the place for you. We will be back next year for definite and we cannot wait.
