Perfect for couples, Levi holidays are a too-cool mix of snowy sports followed by steamy sauna sessions.
North of the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, Levi's blessed by generous snowfalls and a long, long ski season. You can hit the slopes in the morning, then chill out after lunch with a hot chocolate in front of the fire.
With 48 slopes to choose from, pros and first-timers alike can find their perfect piste. There are trickier runs on the west side if you're feeling brave, or you can stick to easier slopes to the south and south-east. For some horizontal zooming, go ice-karting across the frozen lake in Kittila, a 15-minute drive away.
There's nothing better after a wild day of snowboarding, skiing or hiking than to come home to a hot Finnish sauna. To do as Lapland's locals do, plunge into an ice-cold lake after your steam to get your circulation pumping.
Day 1 - The Warm Up
When you arrive at Kittila airport, Santa’s elves will greet you and take you to your accommodation. Then you’ve got a free afternoon to get a feel for the place.
Day 2 - Winter Wonderland
Get immersed in Lappish culture with short taster sessions of husky sledge-riding and snowmobiling in the morning. Then you’ll get to see an Arctic Circle crossing ceremony, followed by some free time in the afternoon.
Day 3 - Frosty Fun
Those of you on 3-night trips will enjoy Day 4’s activity list today instead.
You can take your pick of things to do. Cruise through the countryside on a snowmobile or on the back of a husky or reindeer-driven sleigh.
Day 4 - Festive Fun
These activities will be on Day 3 for guests on a 3-night stay. Today, you’ll head out to Santa’s activity area in the Kittila countryside for a day of festive fun. Try your hand at decorating cookies and making Christmas ornaments, zoom through the snow on a toboggan ride, and top your day off with a face-to-face meeting with Santa himself. Later, you’ll tuck into a traditional Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
For these trips, you can stay at any of our hotels in Levi, Yllas and Pallas. We try to pack as much fun in as possible, so activities can differ from the order above. Everything will be included at some point, though. If you want to celebrate Christmas Day in Levi, book our 4-night trip departing on the 23rd December. Just so you know, this itinerary is for Sunday to Wednesday arrivals, so Monday to Thursday arrivals will have a slightly different itinerary.
Santa's elves will take you to your hotel in Levi, Pallas or Yllas. You'll pick up snow clothes on the way to the resort. Then, you'll have a free afternoon to get a feel for your surroundings. Grab a toboggan and make a beeline for the snow, or take a walk through the snowy countryside.
On this activity, you’ll take a short husky sleigh ride, and have a go being pulled on a sleigh from the back of a snowmobile. You can pay a bit extra to see an Arctic Circle crossing ceremony, too. You can spend the rest of day however you like – wrap up and play in the snow or relax in your hotel.
Cruise through the countryside by driving a snowmobile, or sit back and relax on a sleigh as huskies lead the way.
On day two, head to Santa's activity area for the day to make Christmas tree ornaments and meet reindeer. Plus, you can top your day off with a face-to-face meeting with Santa himself.
