Holidays to Playa Flamingo are all about the Blue Flag beach – it's arguably one of the best in the region. Throw in an idyllic bay and small commercial centre and you've got a lovely little retreat.

In terms of looks, Playa Flamingo is everything you’d hope for from a coastal scene – think pale sands and an yacht-filled bay hemmed by hillsides covered in tropical greenery.

Playa Flamingo Blue Flag beach

The beach here is long – incredibly long – so seemingly never-ending views are a given. It also means bagging a spot all to yourself is a pretty much a cinch. What’s more, the beach is considered to have one of the best stretches of sand in the region and has been awarded Blue Flag status.

Low-key resort

While Playa Flamingo certainly scored highly on the appearance front, it's rather more humble when it comes to facilities – the beach, for example, plays host to just a handful of beach shacks and bars. Likewise, the town is on the small size, centred around a single commercial plaza that has a small supermarket, pharmacy and a bank, plus a few restaurants and bars.
