    ABOUT THE HOTEL

    • Official Rating
    • Free Wi-Fi

At the Melia Fuerteventura you’ve got direct access to a massive golden-sand beach, and there’s a stellar activity list to choose from.

This hotel’s an expert in getting away from it all – it’s picked a secluded spot nestled in between the sand dunes beside nine-kilometre-long Sotavento Beach. And if you want to check out the town, Costa Calma’s a handy five-minute drive away.

There’s plenty to do here, like yoga or pilates classes. Plus, one of the world’s biggest watersports centres,René Egli, is right outside the door, offering tours* and courses*.

Not a 4 star hotel as advertised on Jet2.com website
    28 Nov , 2019 glenrothesay, 551923
I wish now I had taken other reviews of this 2 star budget hotel more serious First time I have had to ask on arrival for a room to be cleaned it was filthy, I was offered a room change 3 days later the hotel’s guests relations staff are a joke. The furniture was damaged and the sofa had a broken arm rest damaged floor tile shoddy for a 4 star rating by Jet2.com holiday’s, and Barhead travel. Do not book all inclusive you are treated with distain and the beer is watered down it’s not till you have a beer in town that this is apparent I have never Sean a cocktail made with poring to liquids into a glass and calling it a piña colada it tasted disgusting and so sweet. The only way I could get a decent drink was to ask for a vodka straight with no ice then ask for a vodka and coke and then add the glass of vodka to it if you don’t do this you could drink all night and would have no effect again diluted alcohol. The food was bland and of a poor standard as was the staff interaction guests that were not all inclusive were treated better, all food is served in one area self service style that’s ok for breakfast but not for main meals, The nighttime entertainment was average to diabolical the hotel is situated 8 euros one way in a taxi to the nearest entertainment and good restaurant’s with descent food and drink, 30 euros each way in a taxi to the bigger town in the south well worth a visit you can get a bus for 3.50 euros but 7 euros in taxi to get the bus. If you are looking for a surfing holiday well this is the place to be as long as you get it cheap we payed way to much for the poor quality of this Hotel. We didn’t let this ruin our holiday we spent quite a bit of time out of the Hotel but spent £600.00 more than we would have, had the Hotel lived up to a 4 star Hotel. The good review’s are most likely from guests that have joined their loyalty scheme and may loose the points that are awarded when they spend more money in the group’s other Hotels around the world “So Disappointed”
So tranquil stunning grounds and location

Still here on holiday at the moment, first time I’ve been on holiday and never left the hotel. The grounds around the pool area are stunning very tropical looking. Hotel is very rural but for me that does not matter, beach is beautiful you can walk for miles on it. For Buffett food you can not fault it, plenty of fish, meats ( steaks included ) , breakfast choice excellent aswell. I’m in room 805 and the only complaint I have is u would of liked a sea view. I will def be back very soon.
Average but good for a relaxing cheap break

Just returned from a week at the Melia. It was great for a 4* resort and a cheap break away in November. We didn’t upgrade to the level as didn’t see the point for the money. They didn’t get much more than us! I wouldn’t bother for a dressing gown and a empty smaller restaurant lol... The food was good and varied. Lots of fresh meat and fish for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was very good with fresh omelettes and eggs made to order. Drinks weren’t branded but all taste great and beer is good. Only downside was limited cocktails unless you upgrade to the level. We stuck to beer, wine, gin and vodka. All good. Our rooms were located on 5th floor and good. No minibar or even water in the standard rooms so take a water bottle to fill each day. Free ice cream is available all day from the bar along with donuts and cakes. You won’t go hungry at this hotel if you’re all inclusive. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so not much to do. But good for a relaxing break! We ventured into costa calma (€7 taxi) for two amazing dinners at: Posada San Borondon (authentic Spanish restaurant with live music) and Villa Del Mar (luxe Mediterranean vibe) would highly recommend both. We also attempted to get the free hotel bus into Jandia on the Thursday and the bus was supposedly due at 1030am. We waited for an hour and no sign of the bus with about 50 people waiting to get on board. We ended up getting a taxi which cost €28. The town was not worth it! The bus home was too full so they had us wait for an hour for a replacement coach! DO NOT BOTHER!! The staff have little to no customer service skills and unhelpful which again why it’s a 4*. The omelette man is amazing though. Not much going on in the day or night with crap shows and singers, and no daily activities but more than expected in November. The only massive downer was the weather with it being quite chilly and cloudy most days. So definitely pack a jumper/coat. Everything was self serve which didn’t bother us but that’s why they are 4* and not 5*. Would return to a melia but probably not this one.
Same as other reviews, cockroaches in the breakfast buffet (literally walking on the bread) and bathroom.

Same as other reviews, cockroaches in the breakfast buffet (literally walking on the bread) and also in the bathroom. Feral cats around the pool and buffet area. Utterly unhygienic. Avoid at all costs!!
Too far out, bad food and old - but good for a couple of days of peace
    13 Nov , 2019 Martacarolina79, 186338
This hotel is set in the most amazing grounds. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. It's heaven for kite and wind surfers! However the hotel needs updating, and the fact that there are only 2 small lifts for 900 people is a problem. If you can, don't get a standard room. Also the food was really bland, but the spread was huge so it makes you wonder why they don't have a smaller and tastier selection. With half board no drinks are included with dinner (not even tap water!!) so we made a formal complaint (which by the way no one has contacted us on). Also, location was a major disappointment. Even though the beach is beautiful (you can walk for miles, it's worth it...you can even see squirrels!), there is nothing around: the nearest town Costa Calma is dead, there aren't enough bars/restaurants or anything else to do. I wouldn't go back to this hotel as it's way too far from anywhere and there's literally nothing to do so it gets really boring after 2 days. The best thing about this hotel is the staff (reception, cleaning), the grounds and the calm environment but I still can't recommend it.
