    ABOUT THE HOTEL

    • Official Rating

The Roda Beach Village couples a beachfront location with a top-notch activities list, as well as more pools than you can shake a float at.

This hotel’s got its own sandy beach, which comes with fantastic views of mainland Greece. The village of Roda’s less than a 10-minute drive away, or if you want to visit the buzz of Corfu Town, it’s an hour by car.

The pool area’s pretty swish – there are half a dozen places to have a dip, and a bunch of colourful waterslides make an appearance, too. On the food front, three à la cartes, a creperie, and a souvlaki bar take centre stage.

    Ok/Good Family holiday
    09 Dec , 2019 Nrs2252, 186338
I stayed here with my family for a week in August. There’s many pros and cons of staying in this hotel. The hotel itself is very big, and pretty. It has some amazing sunsets and the food is good, with lots to choose from. But does get very repetitive. I would recommend going to at least one restaurant along the beach for the night to mix it up - it makes a nice difference to the main restaurant. The crepes from Sophia are excellent. The staff work exceptionally hard. However, there are most likely going to be queues for food, etc. Purely due to the large number of guests. The pools are salty and very cold. However, you do get used to the salt so it’s not bad especially if you wear Goggles, and from being cold, it made it very refreshing and cooled you down very fast. The white comfy sun beds by the pool do go early in the morning even thought it does say you can’t reserve them. However, they do have blue ones which are available quite late into the morning and on the beach so you are always able to find some. They might just be less comfortable or further from the front of the pool or sea. On the beach they have free pedalos, and paddle boards etc which is very good, and provides entertainment. The hotel shows are actually good and the entertainment team do work very hard. Like all the staff do. Towards the end of the holiday though, somehow my family and I came down with a bug. This was unexpected, and kinda ended our holiday on a low sadly, since it was a really good holiday so it was a shame to end it in Illness for the journey home.
3* Hotel with Poor facilities, dreadful food, indifferent staff
    26 Nov , 2019 LalaWak, 186338
Where do I start......Firstly this is a very drab and soulless 3* hotel. When I checked in 2 guests were complaining about the food and also being very unwell and needing medical assistance.....this became the theme for the whole of my stay. The food was truely awful - poor choice and quality - nothing was fresh (apart from the chips which they cooked in an open fryer at the front of the counter where most of the kids would Queue - so dangerous and utterly pointless to watch hot fat spitting in front of you) most of the food was pre-cooked and sat congealed in metal trays. The dining area was a shambles - tables not cleared, waiters squabbling and arguing amongst themselves over who was NOT going to serve the guests with drinks or clear tables. Getting a drink (the wine was revolting and pretty undrinkable) with dinner was a mission as no-one would acknowledge your existence. The Queue's into the dining room were so over-the-top and needless and added to the misery of the whole dining experience. All the facilities were closed down as the week went on - the nice sunloungers all disappeared and were replaced with canvas stretchers from the 1970's. All the restaurants were closed, so the cess pit in the main hotel was the only option. The choice and quality of drinks was awful - cheap spirits and mixers, and wine was not even an option it was so bad. The bar didn't stock any branded spirits so you didn't even have the choice to pay for anything decent.
    Ruined holiday

Just mirroring what everyone else had said really. Can't understand how they can get away with charging the same price for a holiday and it being so utterly terrible. Really unfair that we have been penalised for going in the last week of October. Every plus point that made us book this hotel and spend our hard earned years savings was either closed down for the season or just terrible. Staff were on a whole rude and unhelpful (with the exception of maybe 3 people who were pleasant) management not interested in anyone's complaints. Literally every family who stayed at the same time as us have said the same. I know people may read this and think that it's a one off because it's the end of season but the way the people (who were here during this period) were treated is utterly disgraceful and should make you think twice about booking at any time. So many people have wasted their hard earned cash and we have been made to feel like we were a burdon whilst they were trying to shut the hotel down for the season. Food choice was the worst we have ever had on any holiday and we ate out nearly every night costing a fortune. I have never ever complained about a hotel before and we have been to some that haven't been great but this was just so unfair that we had paid for a luxury holiday and been totally duped! We have made official complaints to both the hotel and our holiday provider and heard nothing back yet but won't be dropping this until we get some answers! Very disappointed customers
    Really really bad!

This hotel closed down most of the facilities during our holiday and it was really poor service for the last three days. Everyone has said the same things. Outrageous that they think they can get away with this. I have officially complained in writing to the management and e mail to the holiday Company loveholidays and head office in Athens .We went on Oct 22 to 29. Not heard a word from either Company...... I did notice that most of the German holiday makers left on the 26 Oct and the decline started then. Fortunately we did not suffer from any food poisoning like other guests but I ate very little of the unappetising food and stayed away from the cooked food. We had a 2 hour plus drive to the airport when leaving - it took 50 mins to the hotel upon arrival. The only good things about our holiday were the weather and the taverna along the beach! My advice is to think twice when booking and ask to move rooms if they try to put you in a poor location with tired furnishings. At certain times the hotel smelled disgusting so they may have a drainage/sewage problem too.
    October Late Break

We approached the reception desk and were greeted by the helpful receptionist. We handed over our passports and were taken on a short walk to room 534 by the bell 🛎 boy and he took our bags up the stairs and placed them in the room. The room had a sea view which we paid extra for, although it didn’t look 👀 directly onto the sea as it was partially blocked by foliage. The meals were all served in the main hotel, the restaurant was a bit Fawlty Towers; 1. Queue from the bottom of the stairs 2. Get seated by the restaurant staff 3. Sit until someone changes the table cloth 4. Wait on drinks order being taken 5. Proceed to collect a plate and browse the food offering (All inclusive) banquet style. The food offering are the standard all inclusive fare and adequate in both variety, quality and quantity. No complaints! The complex is well laid out and with at least 5 pools, a pool bar at the main pool. There is also a kiosk serving cakes 🧁, ice cream 🍦, crepes. We sometimes sat at the bar and had some good fun with the bar staff. There were lots of sun loungers when we stayed, but unsure how this would be when the hotel 🏨 was full with 1200 or 1300 guests. There is a range of water sports equipment but we never tried it. The beach is shallow quite a way out into the water. I would stay here again!
