We absolutely loved the decadent belle epoch style of decor, furnishings and large suite style bedrooms in this hotel. The rooms were enormous, spotless and the beds so comfortable, we slept like logs. The breakfasts in the cafe were amazing, set us up for a day of touring beautiful Santiago. We ate in the onsite restaurant twice during our visit and had the best steaks and fish we have had in a very long time. Price...

We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights. The room was big and clean but very old-fashioned, it really needs a makeover. The glass door of the bathroom was chipped in some parts, even if they announce slippers and robe on the site, there werent anyThe room was quiet at night but in the morning the cleaning lady was making a lot of noise when entering the office near it. From the moment we arrived the staff were great. The hotel is decorated to fit the area. The restaurant food and staff were very good. They do have an outside swimming pool which due to the rain (3 days out of 3) we did not get to use. Would go again ...

Disappointing hotel, not 5 stars, avoid

Hotel is in a great location and near all the main tourist areas, and also shops, bars and restaurants.
I was very disappointed about the staff at the hotel. On check-in, after waiting about 10 minutes as the receptionist typed on her computer, we eventually got our room keys. Staff were not very welcoming and did not tell us anything about the hotel, facilities, breakfast room or the Pool.

There's not too much to say. Santiago de Compostela is a relatively small town, and the hotel is about as well located as it can be - halfway between the train station and the Cathedral (about a 10 minute walk to both). That said, there are accommodations far better located - anything in the historic center, for instance. But the location isn't bad.
