Water babies will be on cloud nine with holidays to Gocek – it's packed to the rafters with marinas, off-shore islands and some stellar beaches.

Glam Gocek

Location-wise, Gocek lucked out. It’s backed by pine-smothered mountains and fronted by a whopper of a bay. And, it might be small, but this teeny town’s a big dog in the yachting world. Plus, it’s a real cutie pie – high-rises are a no-no and the waterfront’s decked out with smart bars and cafés. It’s basically the Puerto Banus of Turkey.

Beach bevy

Swanky marinas are higher in the pecking order than beaches in Gocek’s centre. But sandy stretches haven’t been given the boot. You can pay per day to put your feet up on the D-Resort Gocek’s private slither. If you don’t want to shell out, Inlice Beach is just 10 minutes’ drive down the coast. Or you can hop on a water taxi to the island beach.

Hit the H20

Not only does Gocek have an attention-nabbing bay, but it’s also scored a troupe of isles off-shore. So, a 12 Islands boat trip’s a must – head down to the waterfront and the companies will be fighting over your lira. The town’s also slap bang in the middle of Dalyan and Fethiye, so you can squabble over which one to visit first.
