Holidays to The Lime are what the Caribbean’s all about – top-notch beaches and views that wouldn’t look out of place on a postcard.

Laidback life

The Lime’s a sleepy town in southern Grenada, close to the capital, St George’s. Life here moves at a snail’s pace – it’s all about gulping down cocktails at beach bars and lazing around on the sand. And you’ll struggle to drag yourself away from Grand Anse Beach – the sand here’s talcum powder-soft and the water’s clear as white rum. A little further inland, there are a couple of small shopping malls to poke your nose around.

Scenic St George’s

Grenada’s capital’s only a 15-minute cab ride away, so you’d have to be mad not to pay it a visit. You’ll want to put the town’s good-looking harbour at the top of your sightseeing list – it’s been dubbed one of the prettiest in the Caribbean. If you’re up for a climb, you’ll get a bird’s-eye view of it from 300-year-old Fort George. And on Saturdays, you can saunter around the town’s spice market, which is chock-a-block with vendors selling home-grown cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
