Spot turtles at Santa Rosa National Park

Ask after Olive Ridley in El Jobo and chances are you’ll be directed to Santa Rosa National Park, an hour away by car. One of the oldest and largest national parks in Costa Rica, it’s home to several species of turtle, including the nesting Olive Ridley. The 91,000-acre park is also home to 4,000 species of butterfly and 115 mammals, from armadillos to coyotes.
