Tuck into authentic Cretan food

Prina has a couple of family-run tavernas in the village that do a nice line in authentic Cretan food. It’s a meaty affair with lamb moussaka and chicken souvlaki always popular. Or if you’re looking for a lighter option, try the rice-stuffed vine leaves called dolmades. Ten minutes up the road at Istron there are seafood places along the shore – they’re rustic places in the main that grill freshly-caught sea bass and serve it up with fried potatoes.
