Club Mac

We went a couple of years ago, it’s way to big with way to many people, felt worse than butlins, the rooms were very basic and didn’t look like the pictures I’d seen on line, round one of the pools constantly stunk of sewage which really wasn’t nice especially if the high heat 🤮 I was actually quite embarrassed to be British with the way some people were acting, obviously this was a couple of years ago so things may have change,, i will say the staff work their backsides off tho some there from early morning until late at night so a big well done to them, so to round it up we definitely won’t be visiting again, each to their own tho it might be great to others 👍🏻

We stayed at Club Mac at the end of July for a week. We had a deluxe family room in Saturno building which was good- kids room had bunk beds and a single bed and was separated from our room with a sliding door. We also had 2 balconies, both with a lovely view. Deluxe room meant that we got upgraded bands which we felt was worth having- branded drinks, free pedalo, bungee and electric car rides. The hotel is in an excellent location- easy (and flat) walk to the beach and marina (there is a bus to the beach from hotel every 30mins), large supermarket 5 min walk away, brilliant aqua park across the road. Pools that were open when we were there were all great and there were activities going on at various points through the day (aqua aerobics, kids games etc). Evening entertainment was very good, with a variety of acts. Our favourite nights were George Pena (comedian) and the staff show. It was especially lovely that they still had the mini disco every night, despite social distancing measures being in place. They gave all the kids a hula hoop to stand and dance in! The only negative we had was that the food was very random. Breakfast was ok; we could always find something to have. We only ate lunch at the snack bar (burgers, nuggets, fries) but were happy with this. There were 45 minute sittings for the evening meal which was hard to stick to each day and apart from the Mexican night (where most of the food was delicious), we often struggled to find something we fancied to eat. Dishes were rarely labelled so we were left guessing what each dish was and complimentary items were not placed together on the same station. So when there was roast beef & Yorkshire puddings, these things were on opposite sides of the room and the veg and gravy were somewhere else altogether! And one night on the kids corner, there was breaded fish, smiley faces and sprouts (luckily, one of my kids likes sprouts!!) Not a massive problem but it would probably be the thing to stop us going back. All in all, we had a great time and the hotel was being careful to follow rules around face masks and social distancing. Thanks Club MAC!
