    The family-run Alykes Garden Village has a quiet, countryside setting, between the beach town of Alykes and Katastari village. TripAdvisor reviewers really rate it – it nabbed a Certificate of Excellence this year.

    With a backdrop of olive groves and fruit orchards, this place has a really peaceful feel. You’re not cut off, though – Alykes and its sandy beach are a 10 minute walk away, as is the traditional village of Katastari.

    Studios and apartments are simple and comfortable, with balconies and handy kitchenettes. There’s a pool and sun terrace outside, plus a water-side snack bar.

    If you want a quite relaxing time this is your nirvana. i am not a good walker (blocked femeral artery) but did not have a problem walking into the village centre. Don't think you could do the walk into the village in less than 10 mins(took me 20 lol) but there are a few rest points along the way and to hell you are on holiday.Beautiful place and wonderful people .i will be back next year.

    Awful, towels changed only every 4days, we did not know this until we arrived. Expensive A/C, 10euros per night. Creepy Jimmy the owner, very odd. Loud music from ajoining appartments/bar. 1mile exactly from the apartment to the beach, luckily we are walkers but if you are not it won't be for you, if you do go run this past Jimmy he will totally disagree! Uncomfortable beds. We were there in June & we were very cold during the night, the room seemed very shaded, Room 101, the generator is also outside this room door which can be noisy if the electric goes off & it has to fire up. Breakfasts are not good, wafer thin plain omlettes resembling a warm up from the previous morning, diluted orange juice rather than concentrated. The hob is as useful as a chocolate fireguard. We could hardly open the cutlery draw which was very stiff when opening & closing, again, we ate out morning & night anyway. There's never anyone on reception, day or night, no phone in the room, no small fire extinguisher, I am sure apartments are bound to have one. The pool lounger mats were mostly filthy & quite frankly ready for the bin., luckily we went to the beach everyday which is fantastic, just a brilliant beach.. We chose to keep our room for a few hours as check-out is 10am, so we had the room an extra 4hrs, Jimmy charged us 40euros for the privelage, there was no offer from Jimmy of a free shower facility although we did see this in reception but we had already paid for the extra few hours by then. WI-fI is not good, none existant in the room, we did find if we layed in a certain position on the bed it worked, ridiculous really. The list is endless. I'm sure you know by now, we will not be returning to these Apartments. We do love ALYKES just not the Garden Village, You have been warned.

    We are a family of six and was looking forward to returning to the beautiful Alykes. The only thing you need to get right is your hotel. I can say with all honesty Alykes Garden Village is truly a gem Jimmy, Soula and the staff are amazing, friendly, always got time for you and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms we were given where immaculate and spacious, plenty of storage space. The shower was powerful, and you never ran out of hot water. The bar area was clean and well stocked. The pool was great clean and well maintained All in all if you decided to stop at the Alykes Garden Village then you will not be disaapointed

    Being well travelled people but never having been to Greece or any of The Greek Islands, which one do we choose ? Advised by friend of friend of friend etc, go to Zante and stay at The Alykes Garden Village, it wil suit you down to the ground. They were definitely right. From our large room and balcony looking towards the mountains was lovely to our accommodating host Jimmy and his family. The relaxing area and Alykes village and beach and restaurants along the way were second to none but the best part of our holiday were the days spent pool side relaxing and enjoying Jimmy's hospitality at his Pool Side Bar, the food was delicious from traditional greek salads to burgers and pizza and a lot more ( all home made ) I have read as many comments as I can, mostly positive but some negative towards Jimmy, what I can say is Jimmy could not help us enough withall of our needs even organising a lift back for us from a resturant. Different strokes for different folks, if you want to stay in a big impersonal hotel then stay there or go and stay at The Alykes Garden Village and meet Jimmy and his lovely family. We have already booked again for next September, see you there !! Kind thoughts to you Jimmy and your lovely family , Laszlo and Kate xx

    Friendly, clean, friendly staff. Will come back. Very spacious room, basic cooking facilities, large fridge freezer. Table and chairs inside room and outside, large sofa. For the money this is a bargain.
