The location of this Avani Museum District Hotel was impeccable. With views of the canals and just steps away from the Van Gogh and Rijks Museums made this a perfect hotel for a 3 night visit to Amsterdam prior to sailing on a UK cruise. Well done recommend!...

We enjoyed our room with a canal view. The location is close to a metro stop, the Albert Cuyp market, and Amsterdam's major art museums. Lots of nearby small restaurants across the canal. The hotel's breakfast buffet is outstanding....

Great Location, Kind staff, POOR storage in room for long stay

Hotel is short walk to Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Modern art Stedelijkt museum and Moco museum. Breakfast were great, as was the staff. Rooms were clean, but storage was a BIG issue. I stayed here 4 days and had 2 mail size cubby holes to store my clothes. Hanging space was adequate. The room had space for a dresser and a desk. Sofa and chair looked artistic but were NOT comfortable. This should be rated a 2.5 or ...

Overall, my experience at Avani was pleasant. Everyone was very friendly, except for the breakfast waitress. She almost ruined the whole experience. Her attitude was very unpleasant. What I find surprising is that they would put someone with that attitude in charge of something as important as breakfast. It's not a nice way to start the day. Disappointing except for breakfast.

The breakfast was excellent but otherwise there were issues. The showers are exceptionally slippery, almost dangerous (solved with a rubber mat that the hotel provided upon request). The toilet is sized for an extremely short person, lighting in the rooms is inadequate. A request to make the standing lamp work was ignored.
And the elevators. There are three elevators and invariably at least one was not working ...
