Located across a canal - shipping lane from Amsterdam Central, I was a bit concerned how we were gonna get back-and-forth to what is essentially the main tourist area and attractions in Amsterdam. The geography is complicated, but we were told that this part of town is mainly new and residential. We were originally booked to stay at a sister hotel in the canal district, but due to renovations were moved to the Sir Adam, along with our travelling companions. We couldnt have been more pleasantly surprised! Easily accessible from Central Station by the free ferry system the Sir Adam was an excellent base for our explorations of the city. We stayed here 3 nights while touring Amsterdam. This is a really quirky fun place to stay! We had a corner room that faced the shipping canal. Every room has a record player and has a retro/ 1970s style of decor- its unique and cool at the same time. We are Marriott Platinum members and stay almost exclusively with the brand. Great hotel with stunning views of Amsterdam. The little touches like the record player and clothes steamer were good and the free ferry over and back was so handy. Great base to visit Amsterdam. The only thing we found was we had to have the air conditioning on all for the 5 days....
