Rude staff, mediocre rooms, and overpriced

I have never been treated so poorly by the staff of a hotel. I was delayed returning from a tour and was an hour late for check-out. The young man at the front desk literally yelled at me in front of other guests in the lobby. He told me I would need to pay a fine and I agreed. I stayed calm, did everything I was asked, and was polite, but he was determined that I feel his wrath and that everyone know how terrible I ...

Entrance was grand and very boutique-feeling. Cesar took wonderful care of us, and made us feel warm and welcome. The room was basic in some ways, but comfortable. Exactly all we needed for an overnight. Room service was a bit of a disappointment in execution, but was convenient and quick. The gentleman who delivered was nice eye candy. Ive been staying at the Axel since it first opened, back when it was mainly targeted toward the gay community. Nowadays it has become more inclusive you see many straight couples too, which I actually find great. On the other hand, the hotel hasnt gone through any renovations in the past decade.
