Good Hotel awful area

The Hotel and staff were great. Rooftop bar is good and so is the food.
However, the area around the hotel is awful. During the morning you should be ok around the front of the hotel but i would advice not going around the area after dark and uber/taxiing in and out.
Lots of prostitues drug dealers lurking in the streets around the hotel...

Stayed 3 nights, really enjoyed it, didnt see any anti-social behaviour. Hotel was clean and comfortable....

Central hotel, even in a questionable neighborhood

Barceló Raval is a solid choice if you want a centrally located hotel in Barcelona. Even though it is situated in a neighborhood that looks a bit dirty and potentially unsafe at first glance, we did not experience any problems at all. Police presence in the area is noticeable, which adds a sense of security and makes walking around comfortable, even in the evening.

Mugged

Although a lovely hotel the area is less than desirable we were mugged on the first night yards from the hotel entrance we had not even checked in it was only 8.30
We spent the rest of the evening at the police station ( great start ) to the holiday. However I informed TUI who rang the hotel to be told they didnt know about it even though it was witnessed by the kind and helpful concierge who also rang the police ....
