Hotel was comfy and convenient but it was the staff who made it special. I managed to leave a small backpack in the taxi from the airport but thanks to Hector and Andreas at the hotel, and Barcelonas great "Ive left something in a taxi" system I got it all back the next day - whew. They all looked after us including Cheryl in the restaurant. Highly recommended....

A good choice for a stay in the center of Barcelona

Located on one of Barcelona's main thoroughfares, it can be reached by taxi from the airport in 20-30 minutes (depending on traffic), connects to the main city transport links, and is within easy walking distance of the city centre. There are many bars and restaurants nearby.
The rooms are comfortable, fairly spacious and quiet. A good choice for a stay in the centre of Barcelona....

Dont stay here if you want natural light in your room !!!
We had booked a 3 person family room but there was literally zero natural light which made it extremely uncomfortable especially for someone with anxiety who likes to see outside and needs light !!!
Even the restaurant has zero natural light.
The room itself was large and comfortable so the lack of light was extremely annoying.

Great hotel, well located, 10ish mins walk to Las Ramblas, easy access to metro with Para-Lel stop just outside. Staff are all friendly and helpful. We arrived early but were still able to check in. Room was great. Only downside was the noise from the road, maybe good to ask for a room away from main road. Plaza Reial was 10 mins walk and a great place for people watching...

We had the most amazing start at the Universal. The best thing about the stay were the staff who we so accommodating and friendly. They really did go the extra mile to accommodate my mum who is disabled with mobility issue. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we really were made to feel special.
