I stayed at Catalonia Plaza España last Sunday as I needed a comfortable place to spend the day in Barcelona before leaving in the evening. From the very beginning, the experience was excellent.

My 3-day stay at Catalonia Barcelona Plaza was completely unacceptable.
We paid $260 Euros for the New Years Eve fixed menu dinner, and both my partner and I ended up with severe food poisoning. I was so sick that I couldnt eat for days and had to go to the ER. Our New Years was ruined.

Upon entering the hotel, there is no one to greet you. Bellmen are on site but unbothered to help you with luggage. My luggage was literally on the street until someone decided to help.
There is no warm welcome in the check in area. Just -"ur id and credit card". The lady who checked me in, charged me twice. Her colleague asked her to double check and then charged me again. So by 3.30 PM there were not one or two BU...

Dirty stinky old hotel with cheap mattress

This hotel is located next to the mall and a large Plaza. It's not really ideally located in terms of shopping and restaurants. I usually stay at the other end of the long street but this hotel was included with our tour.

I stayed here for 1 night after a business trip in different cities in Spain. I truly loved the hotel. Thanks to Linda to register me in room 240 with an amazing view on the square and the museum and fountains. My room was stylish with a lot of natural light, a very comfy bed and a spacious bathroom with all amenities you need. The pool on the rooftop terrace gives you the best views of the city.
