We stayed at the Catalonia Bourne in Barcelona for three nights June 2026. Our room is like a sweat box despite us asking on separate occasions if they could fix the air-conditioning they have done nothing at night its 27° we were advised to turn the Aircon unit downto 10 and that that would give it the needed. Location is my biggest factor in booking a hotel other than value. This location is nice with pros and cons. Taxi drivers had a hard time dropping us off and picking us up because this hotel is locked into the edge of a pedestrian area. I recommend walking to the Arc de Triomf to do pick up and drop offs. And walking the 2 minutes into the pedestrian area. The street noise is minimum due to this which is nice and it ...

The hotel location is great for exploring. The hotel amenities are nice, especially the rooftop pool. The rooms we fine - modern and reasonably equipped. Unfortunately the air conditioning was very poor. Even with the thermostat at 10 Celsius, little to no cooling happened and we had to open windows to be able to sleep. We visited end of April as a group of two couples, my husband and I had a twin room which at first I was disappointed with as we did not request this. However, we did not mention this at the time as for a city hotel it was very spacious and the bathroom was incredible!
We had a separate bath on one side with a rain fall walk in shower on the other.

ruined our trip ! unfortunate experience .HOTEL CATALONIA BORN in Barcelona advertises as being 4 stars - nothing4 Star about this place. absolutely unacceptable and unpleasant and not true to its advertising.
