Perfect location to stay in Barcelona!

We stayed here with a travel group. We loved this hotel, its rooms, breakfast and bar. It was wonderfully located central to all attractions. Many small cafes, bakeries and shops within walking distance. Hotel staff including Mario were gracious, welcoming and helpful. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel....

Amanda and her collegues really gave me a wonderful and safe home during my participation in a European Congess. The room was clean and well organized. The breakfast in the morning gave me the energy I needed for the Congress. The Girona metro station is located two blocks from the hotel, so it was easy to go to and from the congess. The surroundings included many shops and restaurants. When I visit Barcelona again ...

To start - the check in process took 45 minutes and the person checking us in had no idea how and needed to get help from another person in order to complete the check in process. Everyone in line was visibly really angry and making it uncomfortable for everyone else checking in because everyone was so angry.

Unfortunately in our two-week trip through Spain the Catalonia Eixample 1864 was our least favorite hotel experience. When we turned on the AC there was a pretty unbearable mildew/mold smell that came from the unit. The first night we slept with the patio door (the only exterior opening in the room) open.
