We had the premium room with terrace. The terrace was fantastic - very large with seating for 8 people.
One downside is it was not cleaned throughout our stay so was quite dirty with cigarettes remaining from a previous guest and also been dropped from a guest above through their window.

Excellent location - walking distance to lots of attractions, restaurants & shops. Great rooftop bar with amazing views. Very friendly & helpful staff from the check-in staff, to the concierge and the staff at the restaurant, especially Artur who worked the breakfast shift at the restaurant - he made us delicious coffees & always made sure our needs were met....

I have been to Barcelona many times. I have never found a hotel that I liked enough to repeat my stay. I finally found a hotel that I really liked. The Gran Hotel Calderon is ideally located next to Placa Catalunya. It is very close to La Rambla but out of the way so you don't get all the noise of that street but retain the access. My wife and I booked this hotel after staying in an NH Collection Hotel in Madrid last year. The hotel was very clean and the staff was superb. They helped us get into our room earlier and were always there for help and suggestions on where to eat and what to see. The breakfast was really outstanding and we found that we could easily bypass lunch. A great location -- close to everything , quiet at night ...

Food and service is good! The family and I enjoyed the food, service and vibe! Each food is on point for its taste and price. Our favorites are the tomato pan and paella. Waiters are tourist friendly, they are able to converse in English well. We were served with Karel who were so nice and kind....
