Clean and memorable room but partially for the wrong reason

The room is great - the suite wish. Lots of space, exceptional and large terrace, and tasteful furnishings.
The hotel staff is excellent.
What ruined things is that the room reeks of sewer gas. While searching reviews during our stay, this is seemingly common. But unlike the other reviewers, I can say for certain that this smell is coming from the heating/cooling system and not the bathroom. In fact, the bathroom...

Fantastic for Orwell enthusiasts

TRULY HISTORIC HOTEL!! Right opposite is the building where George Orwell spent three nights on the rooftop during the Spanish civil war. The hotel was the POUM HQ - which for anyone whos read Homage to Catalonia is amazing! Right next to the hotel is the Moka Cafe with a special memorial to Orwell in its basement. Not a pleasant stay

Spent $$$ on their suite wish and was not worth it at any price furnishing looks nice in pics but worn in reality Left for another hotel @10PM Next floor up was rooftop bar very many different noises,very loud. All mgmt did was give me the broken heart gesture,thats when I told them we were leaving.PS construction on street looks like it will be going on for awhile...

Nice hotel on Las Ramblas

We stayed one week at the hotel in April. We booked the superior room, which happens to be two different types of room and we got the wrong type first. The receptionist helped us to get the correct one from day 2, and we were happy with this room.
As it is right next to Las Ramblas we expected noise, but the construction work was more than expected, but thats not the hotels fault.

All the hotel staff were extremely good at their jobs and very friendly and very helpful
My self and my wife were in a Deluxe double which was very clean and big with a extremely good shower
The breakfast choice is a huge buffet of so many different choices from cold to hot you can get your breakfast delivered to your room if you wish.
